CSC Elections 2015 recorded the largest number of voters in MQC History yet it still fell short as regards the search for the next CSC President and Vice-President (knowing that they were the only ones running for the said positions). As in general, the said positions need to bring on their side 50%+1 of the student population to lift them as leaders and unfortunately, such target was not achieved.
In actuality, the school has a total population of 2251, meaning the cases above should secure a total of 1127 (50%+1). The Elections resulted into a record of 1123 voters casting their stands, thus, an automatic Failure of Elections for the two positions.
Out of the 1123, here were the results for the two positions:
Brian Tapnio (Marian Echoes): 908 votes out of 1123
Nicko Pucolangas (Marian Echoes): 950 votes out of 1123
In this regard, we would like to invite every Legionnaire to participate in the Interim Elections that will take place this Monday, March 9, 2015, at 3:00 pm – MQC Covered Court. All Recognized Student Organizations (RSO’s) and Non-College Based Organizations (NCBO) are REQUIRED to participate and vote. Every student can throw questions and watch the said elections.
The ComStudElec is expecting of your participation as a Legionnaire and a WISE citizen of the democratic state you live in.
WE KNOW HOW TO COMPLAIN, BUT WE ARE AFRAID OF TAKING OVER. LET’S BE PARTICIPATIVE NEXT TIME.
