To celebrate the 63rd Founding Anniversary of the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS), the 72 members schools around the Davao-Digos-Tagum-Mati or commonly known as DADITAMA region facilitated the Laudato Si' Integral Ecology Project, a seven-year project to revive, strengthen, and sustain God's creation.
In connection with the celebration, the Maryknoll School of Sigaboy Grade 10 and Grade 12 students conducted a tree planting around the school environment. Guided by the message of Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home, they are reminded that caring for the environment is a shared responsibilityโone that calls each of us to protect and nurture the world we live in. With every tree planted, they leave behind more than just roots in the soilโthey leave memories, friendships, and a promise that a part of them will always remain within these grounds. The Laudati Si isn't just implemented just for compliance but for promoting sustainable and ethical living.
To the next generation of students of Maryknoll School of Sigaboy Inc, this is your call to continue what has been started. The trees planted today are not just symbolsโthey are living reminders that caring for Godโs creation is a mission meant to be carried on by you.
Plant more. Care more. Do more.
Be the generation that protects, nurtures, and stands for our common home. ๐ณโจ

February 18, 2026 โ the Maryknoll School of Sigaboy Inc. Community, comes together in unity in a solemn celebration for the beginning of Lenten Season on this Ash Wednesday, a time for prayer and repentance, where ashes are placed on the forehead to symbolize human mortality, grief for sin, and the need for reconciliation with God. GOVERNOR GENEROSO, Davao Oriental โ In a strong show of confidence in youth excellence, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Governor Generoso has allocated โฑ135,000 financial assistance to support mathematicians and science qualifiers from Governor Generoso North District to the 22nd National Science Quest, a prestigious nationwide competition gathering some of the most outstanding student researchers, innovators, and mathematical talents across the Philippines.
This amount will cover registration fees and round-trip airfare for eight delegates coming from Sigaboy Agricultural Vocational High School, Tibanban National High School, Enrique Orencia Elementary School, Sigaboy Central Elementary School and Maryknoll High School of Sigaboy Inc. scheduled on February 13โ15, 2026 in Teachers Camp and Skyrise Hotel, Baguio City. Support that underscores the LGUโs continuing commitment to ensuring that GovGens promising students are not hindered by financial limitations as they pursue academic excellence.
This funding initiative was made possible through the leadership of Mayor Juanito C. Inojales, whose administration has consistently prioritized programs that nurture the intellectual and developmental growth of GovGenโs youth to realize a broader vision of investing in education as a pathway to long-term community progress.
The National Science Quest is not an ordinary academic contest. It is a national platform that gathers exceptional young scientists, researchers, and mathematicians from all regions of the country, each having passed rigorous screening and local-to-regional competitions. Participants represent the best of their respective divisions, making the event a convergence of the Philippinesโ most promising scientific and mathematical minds which demands academic rigor, advanced research and mathematical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate ideas with innovation and precision.
For Governor Generoso, the support extended to the North District mathematicians and science qualifiers signals more than logistical assistance, it empowers the capabilities of GovGen learners to stand shoulder to shoulder with top students nationwide and demonstrates how local governance can play a vital role in turning academic aspirations into attainable opportunities.
With travel and registration costs secured, the delegates can now focus fully on preparation, research refinement, and performance, carrying with them not only their schoolsโ banners but also the pride and trust of the entire municipality of Governor Generoso.
As the National Science Quest draws near, the municipalityโs investment sends a clear message: Governor Generoso stands firmly behind its young dreamers, empowering them to compete, excel, and bring honor to the district and the town on the national scientific and mathematical stage.
