CSU Gonzaga IT Student Stephen Yadao Claims Top Spot in Singing Idol 2026

GONZAGA, CAGAYAN — Stephen Yadao, a second-year BSIT student from the College of Information and Computing Sciences at CSU Gonzaga, hit the high notes of victory after claiming the Champion title in the Singing Idol 2026 (Teens Category) on August 18, 2026 at the Gonzaga People's Gymnasium.

Yadao captivated both the audience and judges with his vocal prowess during the tilt, which served as one of the major highlight competitions of the annual Gonzaga Patronal Town Fiesta.

The victory marks a remarkable double-win streak for Yadao during this year's fiesta festivities. Just two days prior, he also served as the lead vocalist for CSU Gonzaga’s Tangkiran Band, which clinched the 1st Runner-Up award in the 2026 Battle of the Bands.

His standout performance brings immense pride to CICS and highlights the exceptional artistic talent thriving within CSU Gonzaga's IT community.

CSU Gonzaga Claims 1st Runner-Up, Special Awards in Educators Night Folk Dance Competition

GONZAGA, CAGAYAN — Cagayan State University (CSU) Gonzaga Campus captured the 1st Runner-Up award in the Folk Dance Competition during the town's Educators Night, held on August 16 at the Gonzaga People's Gymnasium.

The cultural contest brought together educators from across the municipality as part of the annual Gonzaga Patronal Town Fiesta celebrations. CSU Gonzaga's performance ensemble showcased cultural heritage, precision, and grace on stage. Beyond their overall placement, the contingent also bagged the Best in Costume and Props special award for their vibrant stage presentation and authentic artistic vision.

Among the campus performers were faculty members and staff from the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS):

Tangkiran Band Clinches 1st Runner-Up in Gonzaga Town Fiesta 2026 Battle of the Bands

GONZAGA, CAGAYAN — Cagayan State University (CSU) Gonzaga Campus showcased musical excellence as the Tangkiran Band secured the 1st Runner-Up spot in the 2026 Battle of the Bands, held on August 16, 2026.

The musical contest was a major highlight of the municipality’s town fiesta celebration running from August 15 to 19, carrying the theme "Gonzaga Patronal Town Fiesta 2026: A Reflection of Reverence, Sustainability and Community Dynamism."

Proudly representing CSU Gonzaga, the band features student-musicians from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program:

Stephen Yadao – Lead Vocalist
Reynel Garo – Rhythm Guitarist
Angelo Buan – Keyboardist

Delivering a standout performance among stiff competition, the Tangkiran Band earned a well-deserved podium finish, bringing honor to the CSU Gonzaga community and proving that BSIT students can command the stage just as skillfully as the digital realm.

CICS, nagwagi ng Ikatlong Puwesto sa Tagisan ng Talino 2026!

Isang mainit at buong-pusong pagbati mula sa College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) para sa ating mga kinatawan na nagwagi ng Ikatlong Puwesto (3rd Place) sa Tagisan ng Talino bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026.

Ipinagmamalaki ng CICS ang ipinamalas na husay ng mga mag-aaral mula sa ikalawang taon ng BSIT na sina Kenchi Pornillos, Aldrich Dane Antonio, at Jan Ronell Patubo.
