On January 13, 2023, prospective bartenders from CSU organized a session on "Essential Techniques, Tricks, and Tips of Bartending." Paulo Layao, a
creator of the Philippine Flair Tour, a flair performer, a bartender, and
specialist in beverage innovation.

The resource speaker, Mr. Layao, once again dazzled the audience with his knowledge of flares and bartending.
In addition, competitors and students got to see the "Battle of the Bottles" competition.
Mr. Layao extensively demonstrated each flaring ability throughout the session and provided the students with a number of pointers and reminders about flaring and mixing various beverages.


A beverage session was held during the afternoon event as Mr. Layao discussed potential drink trends that would control the market going forward. Additionally, He also emphasized the importance of drink presentation throughout the session, emphasizing that beverages should always be distinctive and aesthetically pleasing.

Indeed, it was a wonderful experience for everyone. Congratulations to the 2nd and 3rd year BSHM students who took part in the activity; it was a lot of fun. The practice of flairtending and mixology was enjoyed by all.

The lecture on "The Secret Ingredients of Culinary" was organized by the CSUan, Hotelier, and Restaurateur on January 13, 2023, at the Villa Saturnina Beach + Resort. The resource speaker was Professor Crisalyn T. Pascual, MSHM, LPT.

Professor Pascual gave a presentation and talked about cooking, particularly the many methods of food preparation. In order to become successful chefs in the future, she also counseled the participants to be more responsible and master time management.

She also encouraged the student participants to ask questions regarding the subjects covered throughout her interactions with them. With his extensive training, expertise, and experience as a chef, he gave useful advice on creating new foods and concepts that may be used in the culinary industry.

The BSHM 2nd and 3rd year students recently had their hotel familiarization at the Gonzaga Riverview Resort.

Gonzaga River View Hotel and Restaurant is situated near Pateng Bridge and the Pateng Barangay Hall. The morning session starts with registration of the participants. Moreover, students were taught about front office management and were given a walk-through of the hotel's very own operating system, as well as information and demonstrations about the basics of running their own hotel and restaurant.

This became a chance for them to learn new things and gain more knowledge, which they may apply someday.

LOOK| First-ever Actual Industry Exposure for Hospitality Management

On January 13, 2023, more than 250 BSHM students attended the first-ever Hospitality Management Actual Industry Exposure at Villa Saturnina Beach Resort and Gonzaga Riverview Hotel and Resort.

The event was organized by the MICE Class of 2022- 2023. Its objective is to expose students to real-world hospitality business situations and prepare the MICE class to put all of their newly acquired theories and knowledge to use when organizing, creating, and carrying out an event. The occasion was also supported and attended by the whole CHM faculty, under the direction of Professor Mae Angelica A. Sinco, college dean.
