Biotechnology Special Lecture Series ✨🔬

The Department of Biology successfully held the Biotech Special Lecture Series with speakers from UPLB - BIOTECH, a dynamic learning event designed to strengthen our new curriculum in Biology majoring in Biotechnology.

The program featured an insightful morning lecture session, where students explored foundational and emerging concepts in biotechnology, research applications, and real-world innovations shaping the future of science. This was followed by an engaging afternoon hands-on demonstration, allowing students to experience practical techniques and laboratory approaches used in modern biotechnological practices.

First-year, second-year, and third-year Biology students actively participated, making the event a vibrant space for academic exchange, curiosity, and collaborative learning. The activity served as a vital bridge between theory and practice—helping students appreciate how classroom concepts translate into real laboratory and industry applications.

More than just a lecture series, the event reinforced the program’s commitment to producing future-ready biotechnologists equipped with both knowledge and skills to innovate, solve problems, and contribute to scientific advancement.

ParSU College of Science's BS Biology students proudly represented the Bicol region at the Scientific Poster Presentation during the 2026 Luzon Regional Scientific Meeting, hosted by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) from April 7–8, 2026. Anchored on the theme “UN SDGs: Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development,” the event gathered some of Luzon’s most promising young researchers.

Two groups of 4th year BS Biology students emerged as 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐒, showcasing the university’s strong commitment to scientific excellence and innovation.

The students actively presented their research findings and engaged with leading scientists, policymakers, and industry experts. Through these interactions, they contributed valuable insights on how biological innovations can help accelerate Luzon’s progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
