Effects of Haze From Forest Fire
The haze from forest fires may look like just a layer of smoke, but the tiny particles in it can enter deep into our lungs and affect our health. Children and elderly people are especially vulnerable, as well as those with asthma, heart, or other respiratory conditions. It can cause eye and throat irritation, coughing, difficulty breathing, headaches, and asthma attacks.
With the visible haze reaching areas like Glan, reportedly associated with forest fires in Indonesia, let’s take extra precautions:
✅ Stay indoors as much as possible when the haze is visible.
✅ Keep doors and windows closed to reduce smoke entering the house.
✅ Avoid outdoor exercise and unnecessary activities, especially for children and seniors.
✅ If you must go outside, wear a well-fitting N95/FFP2 mask when available.
✅ Avoid adding indoor pollution—no smoking, burning, or unnecessary open-fire cooking while the air outside is smoky.
✅ Stay hydrated and monitor children, elderly family members, and people with asthma or heart/lung conditions.
✅ Follow official air-quality and health advisories from local authorities.
🚨 Seek medical attention if anyone develops severe difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe dizziness, or worsening asthma symptoms.
Let’s protect our children, our elderly, and one another. A visible haze is a reminder to take care of the air we breathe. 🙏🌿
Stay safe, Glan. ❤️
