When the earth shook, it wasn’t just a piece of cloth on a pole; it was our guiding light. Gathering around the flag flagpole during our morning routine ensured we were already assembled in our designated, open-space evacuation zone. That sacred morning ritual unknowingly placed us exactly where we needed to be to stay safe.

The flag didn’t just stand witness to our resilience that day—the unity and order it teaches us literally saved lives.
