IN FOCUS | Glan MPS Strengthens Emergency Preparedness Through Active Shooter Response Simulation

‎Glan Municipal Police Station (Glan MPS), headed by PLTCOL Geovanni E. Ladeo, Chief of Police, in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), conducted a Simulation Exercise on Response to an Active Shooter Incident at Glan School of Arts and Trades on August 14, 2026, at 8:00 AM.

‎The activity aimed to strengthen the preparedness and response capabilities of the school community and partner agencies in dealing with potential active shooter incidents and other critical emergencies.

‎The simulation provided an opportunity for participating agencies and school personnel to practice coordinated response procedures, assess the school environment, and identify areas for improvement in emergency preparedness. It also highlighted the importance of effective communication, coordination, situational awareness, and timely response in protecting learners and school personnel.

‎The collaborative effort of the Glan MPS, BFP, MDRRMO, and GSAT demonstrated the importance of inter-agency cooperation in promoting a safe, secure, and resilient school environment.

‎GSAT expresses its appreciation to the participating agencies for their continued partnership and commitment to strengthening school safety and emergency preparedness.

IN FOCUS | Malalag NHS Teachers Conduct Benchmarking Visit at GSAT

Teachers from Malalag National High School, led by Head Teacher Sir Elyson Cuaresma, conducted a benchmarking visit at Glan School of Arts and Trades to learn from its best practices and initiatives, particularly in the management and operations of its TESDA Assessment Centers. The visit provided an opportunity for the educators to exchange insights and explore strategies that may strengthen their own school programs and services.

IN FOCUS | PNP Glan Conducts Response to Active Shooter Incidents (RASI) Orientation at GSAT

The Philippine National Police (PNP)–Glan conducted a Response to Active Shooter Incidents (RASI) Orientation at Glan School of Arts and Trades on August 13, 2026, as part of the school's continuing efforts to strengthen safety awareness and emergency preparedness.

The orientation was facilitated by PCpl Ryan Mark Alido, who discussed essential response protocols, situational awareness, and appropriate actions during an active shooter incident. The session aimed to help school personnel better understand how to respond calmly and appropriately during critical situations.

The activity emphasized the importance of preparedness, coordination, communication, and quick decision-making in protecting learners and school personnel during emergencies.

The orientation also strengthened the partnership between GSAT and PNP Glan in promoting a safe, secure, and resilient learning environment.
