A Biblical Perspective

In 1 King 18,we see the prophet Elijah at his best at Mount Carmel, calling down fire and rain. But later in chapter 19,we see him at his worst in the valley, struggling with depression and discouragement.

This is one of the reasons why the Bible is so authentic. When the Bible paints a picture of its heroes, it always includes the scars and the wrinkles as well. For example, the Bible records that:

*Abraham was the father of faith but he endangered his wife's life twice through his lying.
*Moses was a great leader but he lost his temper in the wilderness.
*David was Israel's greatest king but he committed adultery with Bathsheba
*Noah built an ark for God but he got himself drunk.
*Samson had the strength of God but he had weakness for woman
*Paul was a great apostle but he quarreled with Barnabas.
One of the worst enemies of abundant living is depression. Just Cling onto God's promise that he will never forsake us. Walk with faith in your heart.. ❤️❤️❤️

Daniel and his friends were taken into exile and placed in a culture that pressured them to conform - through education, identity change and daily lifestyle. Yet Daniel made a firm decision early: he would not defile himself. Because of his conviction, courage and faith, God honoured him and elevated him. This passage reminds us that spiritual victory is not accidental - it is the result of pre-decided convictions shaped by God’s Word.
