The Filipino Youth: Shaped by Service, Ready for the Future

NSTP was more than a requirement — it was a reminder of who they are and who they can become. In classrooms and communities, they learned that service isn’t just about giving time. It’s about giving heart. They listened to stories, shared their skills, and stood side by side with the people they pledged to serve. Every training, every outreach, every early morning call-time shaped them into citizens who understand that real change starts with small, consistent acts of care.

As Filipino youth, they carry these lessons forward. They are shaped by service — by the discipline, compassion, and sense of duty NSTP instilled in them. And because of that, they step into tomorrow ready. Ready to lead, ready to serve, and ready to build the future the nation deserves.

They are not just completers. They are the youth, guided by service, and prepared to make a difference.

5𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡: "𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘: 𝗚𝗖𝗨𝗖 𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗣-𝗖𝗪𝗧𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘"

In line with the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and civic engagement, first-year NSTP-CWTS students from BA Economics and BS Agribusiness participated in a Tree Planting and Growing Initiative on March 28, 2026, in Barangay 20, Gingoog City. This initiative aligns with the objectives of Republic Act No. 9163 and Republic Act No. 10176 in developing socially responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.

The tree planting and growing activity was designed to promote environmental awareness, support local greening initiatives, and provide students with practical, hands-on experience in environmental conservation and protection. Through this initiative, students gained a deeper understanding of the critical role trees play in maintaining ecological balance, preventing soil erosion, improving air quality, and mitigating the effects of climate change.

The success of this initiative was made possible through the support of the City Environment and Natural Resources Management Office (CENDRMO), which provided seedlings and technical guidance. The NSTP community also extends its appreciation to the NSTP Coordinator and instructors for their leadership and dedication in ensuring a meaningful and well-organized activity.

This initiative aligns with the objectives of Republic Act No. 9163 and Republic Act No. 10176 socially responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.

The NSTP community also extends its sincere appreciation to the NSTP Coordinator and NSTP Instructors for their leadership, supervision, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that the activity was both meaningful and well-organized.

This initiative stands as a testament to the power of youth engagement in community development and environmental responsibility. Through planting roots of service, the students of Gingoog City United Colleges – National Service Program are not only nurturing trees but also cultivating civic consciousness and strengthening their role in nation-building. By their efforts, they are planting seeds of hope for a greener and more sustainable future.
