Last Week, March 17, 2025, the OJT Coordinator visited several Host-Training Establishments (HTEs) to check in on the students undergoing their On-the-Job Training (OJT). These visits are an essential part of the process, giving the coordinator a chance to see how the trainees are adjusting to their roles and ensuring they’re gaining valuable hands-on experience via evaluation.

During the visits, the OJT Coordinator had thoughtful conversations with supervisors and/or department heads, gathering feedback on the students’ performance, work habits, and behavior. Most of the feedback was positive and supervisors noted that the trainees were eager to learn, followed instructions well, and were growing more comfortable and confident in their tasks.

These follow-ups are not only about checking on student progress but also about strengthening the partnership between the school and the host companies. The feedback gained from these evaluations will ultimately open up more opportunities for both the students and the school in the future.

Heartfelt gratitude was expressed to the host companies for their continued support and for providing a space where students can learn and grow. Here's to more companies to visit, with 234 Interns and more than 70 HTE’s, hoping to hear more positive response!

Yesterday, January 14, 2025, at 8:00 AM, the ASL Gymnasium became the heart of an unforgettable event—The 2nd Pinning & Send-Off Ceremony themed "Advancing Careers through Empowering Professional Development". This milestone celebration brought together 235 fourth-year students preparing for their internships, marking a pivotal step in their journey toward professional growth and success.

The ceremony was a blend of inspiration and purpose as students proudly received their pins in the morning, symbolizing their readiness for the challenges ahead. The momentum continued into the afternoon with a Mock Job Interview session expertly facilitated by the Economics Program's instructors, giving students a taste of real-world professional experiences.

Esteemed guests added prestige to the occasion, including City Mayor Eric G. Cañosa, College President Sheri Love M. Aguiman, PhD, RGC, Keynote Speaker Geraldine I. San Luis, Program Head Mark Anthony A. Catiil, DPA-CAR, Vice President for Academics Myrna Cezar, PhD, Guidance Coordinator Ma. Angelica Baldago, RPm, and Director of DSAS Joan C. Tirariray. The event also welcomed the College Librarian, dedicated faculty members, college staff, supportive parents, and friends, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and celebration.

The program was skillfully hosted by Sir Nikki T. Lungay, MAEd, with technical assistance from Sir Eric Mato and Sir Edsel Fabre.

Special thanks to Roenz Place & Restaurant, Junior Economics Society (JES), SSC Officers, OSAS, Erl L Sanchez and Gilbert for their invaluable support in making this event a resounding success!

Yesterday, over 240 economics students united in an inspiring Tree Planting Activity at Brgy. Balanok, 6:00 AM. This meaningful event was spearheaded by the City Environment and Natural Resource Management Office (CENRMO) as part of a joint effort to cultivate a greener future.

This initiative is not just about planting trees, it’s about planting hope, growth, and responsibility. As future leaders and advocates of sustainable progress, these students recognize the vital role trees play in combating climate change, conserving biodiversity, and creating a healthier environment for future generations.

A huge shoutout to our Economics Students and CENRMO for their dedication and efforts in promoting ecological balance! Let’s continue to grow this culture of environmental stewardship as we move forward. Above all, to the Program Head Sir Mark Anthony A. Catiil, DPA-CAR for the guidance, opportunity and dedication to making this event come true! To Sir Emmjem Militares, Sir Fred Bueno, & Sir Eric Mato, for participating and crowd control, your presence is so much appreciated! 👏🍀
