Today, our school comes together to commemorate the anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution—a moment in 1986 when ordinary Filipinos chose courage over fear and hope over silence. Along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, thousands stood hand in hand—students, parents, workers, religious leaders—proving that real power lives in the unity of the people. 🇵🇭

This day is more than a date in our history books. It is a reminder that freedom was fought for peacefully, that democracy was restored through prayer, courage, and solidarity. The voices that once filled EDSA continue to echo in us today—reminding us that we, too, have a role in shaping the future of our nation.

As students, we may be young, but we are not powerless. We honor this legacy by choosing truth, by standing up for what is right, and by loving our country not just in words, but in action. May we never forget the sacrifices made, and may we always carry the spirit of People Power in our hearts. ✨

KULMINASYON SA BUWAN NG WIKA: PAGLINANG SA WIKANG PAMBANSA

Tuwing Agosto, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Buwan ng Wika — ang buwan ng paglinang, pagyaman, at pagmamalaki sa Wikang Filipino. Noong Agosto 27, 2025, ipinagdiwang ng Christ the King College Junior High School Department ang makabuluhang pagtatapos ng Buwan ng Wika sa Mother Ignacia Gymnasium. Taglay ang temang “Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bayan.”

Nagsimula ang programa ng araw sa Larong Pinoy—mga tradisyunal na laro na nagbibigay saya at nagbabalik-alaala sa kabataan—kung saan masiglang nakipaglaro at nakisaya ang mga estudyante kasama ang kapwa CKCians.

Pagsapit ng hapon, itinampok ang iba’t ibang makabuluhang paligsahan. Una, ang Tawag ng Tanghalan, kung saan ipinamalas ng mga kalahok ang kanilang tinig na parang musika at awit na wagas. Sinundan ito ng Panggagaya ng Bayani, na nagbigay-buhay sa mga makasaysayang Pilipinong nag-ambag sa bayan. Ang Talumpati naman para sa Baitang 7 at 8 ay nagbigay-inspirasyon sa pamamagitan ng mga salitang mapanghikayat. Higit pang nagpasigla ang Sabayang Pagbigkas ng Baitang 9 at 10, na naghatid ng sabayang tinig ng pagkakaisa. Ipinakilala rin ang mga nagwagi sa Bulletin Board Contest, at kasabay nito, ang naganap na Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, na nagpatunay sa husay at lalim ng kaisipan ng mga mag-aaral, at nagpakita ng malikhaing pagpapahalaga sa tema ng Buwan ng Wika.

Sa bawat gawain, ipinamalas ng mga estudyante ang kanilang pagmamahal sa bayan at wagas na nasyonalismo. Ang pagdiriwang sa Buwan ng Wika ay isang masiglang selebrasyon na nagtapos sa diwa ng pagkakaisa at pagmamalaki sa ating wika at kultura. Ito ay hindi lang wika na nagmula kahapo, ito ay ating sandata para sa kinabukasan ng bayan sapagka’t ito ay kaluluwa ng bansa. Pagdiriwang man ay nagwakas, ang pagmamahal sa Wikang Filipino ay mananatili.

Naririnig niyo ba yun? Aba, matatapos na ang Buwan ng Wika!

Maligayang pagtatapos ng Buwan ng Wika, CKCians!
Isang buwang nakatuon sa pagdiriwang ng kultura at wikang Pilipino ang ating pinagsaluhan. Sa temang, “Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa”, muling pinaalala sa atin ng selebrasyong ito ang kahalagahan ng pagtataguyod at pangangalaga sa ating sariling wika, lalo na ang mga wikang katutubo mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa.

Sa loob ng buwan, naranasan natin ang iba’t ibang gawain na nagbigay-diin sa kahalagahan ng ating wikang pambansa—mga aktibidad na hindi lamang nagpasaya kundi nagpatibay din ng ating pagmamahal sa kulturang Pilipino.

Tunay na ang wika ang ugat ng ating pagkakakilanlan, kultura, at kasaysayan. Kaya’t kahit natapos na ang selebrasyon, dalhin natin ang apoy ng ating sariling wika sa bawat salita at kilos na ating gagawin.

Mabuhay ang Wikang Filipino, at Mabuhay tayong mga Pilipino! 🇵🇭

Nagwagi ang Christ the King College sa PRISAA Patimpalak sa Buwan ng Wika 2025

Nag-uwi ng karangalan ang Christ the King College matapos nitong makasungkit ng maraming gintong medalya sa kakatapos lamang na PRISAA Patimpalak sa Buwan ng Wika, na ginanap noong Agosto 20, 2025, sa Christ the Redeemer: Life Formation Mission School.

Pagsapit ng hapon, nagtipon ang mga kalahok na paaralan upang ipamalas ang kanilang husay at pagkamalikhain sa iba't ibang kategorya. Ipinakita ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang buong puso at damdamin sa mga pagtatanghal na sinuri ng mga huradong may matalas na paningin at pandinig sa sining ng wika at panitikan.

Sa antas ng ika-walong baitang, itinanghal na kampeon si Shayne Intana sa kategoryang Spoken Poetry matapos umani ng papuri ang kaniyang piyesang pinamagatang “Papa”— isang masining at madamdaming pag-alay sa sakripisyo ng isang ama para sa kanyang pamilya.

Hindi rin nagpahuli si Elizhamie Duron ng ika-siyam na baitang, na waging kampeon sa kategoryang Talumpati. Ang kaniyang makapangyarihang pananalita tungkol sa wika at ang kakayahan nitong baguhin ang mundo ay nagbigay inspirasyon sa mga tagapakinig.

Samantala, isang maigting at makulay na Balagtasan ang nasaksihan sa kompetisyon ng mga mag-aaral sa ika-sampung baitang. Sina Rafa Panandigan, Alyssa Ebarle, Richard Labarinto, at Axel Navarres ay itinanghal na kampeon matapos nilang maipamalas ang husay sa pangangatwiran, pagbigkas, at pagbibigay-buhay sa masining na pagtatalo.

Ang tagumpay na ito ay hindi magiging posible kung wala ang masigasig na paggabay ng kanilang mga tagapagsanay:

Grade 9 at 10 – G. Karl Angelo B. Almonia

Muli, pinatunayan ng Christ the King College na sa puso ng bawat mag-aaral nito ay nananahan ang pagmamahal sa sariling wika, ang diwang makabayan, at ang kagalingang tunay na maipagmamalaki. Ang tagumpay na ito ay hindi lamang simpleng panalo sa kompetisyon—ito ay tagumpay ng kultura, sining, at pagkakaisa.

CKC Junior High Kicks Off School Year with Joyous “Panaghigalaay ug Panag-uban 2025” Acquaintance Party

Gingoog City, August 8, 2025 — The Junior High School Department of Christ the King College – Gingoog City welcomed the new school year with its annual Acquaintance Party, celebrating the theme “CKCians: Gliding Together with Friendship and Companionship Towards a Synodal Community of Camaraderie and Learning.

Held at the CKC Gymnasium, the event gathered Grades 7 to 10 students in a day filled with fun, friendship, and Ignacian-Marian spirit. It began with a solemn invocation by the Artisan Club and inspiring opening remarks from School President S. Ma. Anecita C. Navaja, RVM, who emphasized the value of companionship.

In an engaging question-and-answer session, students eagerly shared their views on how building friendships impacts not just their social life but also their personal growth. Representatives from each grade spoke candidly, showing that even in their youth, CKCians understand the value of respect, empathy, and collaboration. Followed by games and activities that encouraged teamwork and bonding. Even those who didn’t win prizes left with fond memories and new connections.

As evening came, participants enjoyed dinner, a Spin-the-Wheel raffle, and live music from the JHS Artisans Band, which had students singing and dancing along.

The night closed with the awarding of winners by Mrs. Shiela P. Abatayo and Ms. Luxmie C. Pardillo, heartfelt closing remarks from K-10 Coordinator Ms. Stacy Meh Awayn, and a prayer led by Student Council President Ms. Mia Janell K. Coronado.

For CKC Junior High students, August 8 was not just about starting another academic journey; it was about walking it together, side by side, as one Ignacian-Marian community.

With nutritional meals and energetic performances, Christ the King College’s Basic Education Department ended its Nutrition Month Celebration on a high note!

On July 31, 2025, the Basic Education Department held its annual celebration of Nutrition Month with a theme, “Sa PPAN: Sama-samang Pagkilos ng mga CKCians Para Sa Nutrisyong Sapat, Kalusugan ng Lahat!”. The event was filled with a range of activities that echoed the core message of the event: the importance of unity and collaboration in attaining nutrition.

The students brought their competitive spirits as they were pitted against each other in a series of friendly competitions that reflected the importance of the celebration. Some students competed in the Nutri-Jingle Competition, in which they performed a lively and electrifying routine that highlighted the significance of incorporating healthy dietary practices into their lives.

Some students shared their wisdom and literary proficiency through the Nutri-essay, sharing their insights on the celebration. Meanwhile, other students tapped into their artistic personas as they competed in the Poster Making and Bulletin Making Contest, producing visually appealing artworks while weaving in the theme into their designs.

Some opted to join the Fruit and Vegetables Display contest in which they created a display booth, showcasing a wide range of fruits and vegetables and their nutritional benefits through vibrant and striking colors. Another highlight of the event was the cooking contest per grade level. The students showcased their culinary aptitude by brewing up a healthy and delicious meal filled with sustenance and nutrients.

As the day drew to a close, the winners of every event were crowned in the Culmination. In the end, the greatest prize of it all lay not in trophies or certificates but rather in the wisdom the students obtained. The event was not about creating rivalries but rather to emphasize collective nutrition through unity and camaraderie.

🧠 Exam week is here — that magical time when your ballpen disappears, your brain is shouting "Unsaon ni??", and all you can say is “Lord, tabangi ko…” 😅 every time makadawat og test paper.

To our academic fighters — we see your efforts!Those puyat nights studying the topics (bisag 70% TikTok, 30% study), we salute you! 🫡 Your hard work is appreciated and not unseen — not by your teachers, not by your parents, and most of all, not by God. 💙

💡 Just a few reminders:
✔️Walay milagro kung walay effort.
✔️ Dili kinahanglan perfect — basta honest, mao nay importante.
✔️Review sa notes, dili magsige’g huna-huna sa crush. 😜
✔️Basaha ang instructions — dili lang ang answer sa tapad.

Junior High School Department’s annual Student Council Election, a new generation of leaders rises to take on the mantle of responsibility and service. We are proud to officially introduce the newly elected Student Council Officers and their Moderator for the School Year 2025–2026.

As we close the chapter on a memorable year, we now stand at the threshold of a new journey—one filled with opportunities to inspire, to innovate, and to lead with purpose. It is the unfolding of a new narrative written by the hearts and hands of young leaders ready to make a difference.

May this chapter be marked by unity, creativity, and a deepened commitment to the values we uphold. May it be filled with moments that uplift, voices that empower, and actions that resonate throughout our school community.
