The two-week psychiatric nursing exposure of the 3rd Year Nursing Students (Batch 2) formally concluded on May 15, 2026, through a meaningful closing program anchored on the theme, โ€œJourney Within: Nurturing Minds Through Care and Compassion.โ€ Held at the House of Hope Foundation, Inc., the event highlighted the studentsโ€™ experiences, growth, and deeper understanding of mental health care through various activities, sharing sessions, and presentations alongside the service users.

The culmination reflected the importance of empathy, connection, and compassionate care in psychiatric nursingโ€”reminding everyone that healing begins with understanding.

The 3rd Year Nursing students of Batch Asclepius (Batch 2), composed of 27 students, are set to participate in a two-week psychiatric nursing exposure from May 3 to May 15, 2026.

The clinical exposure will be held at House of Hope Foundation, Inc. in Upper Palalan, Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City, providing students with guided learning experiences in mental health care.

Guided by their Clinical Instructorsโ€”Renaquil M. Baloria, RN; Jay Noel T. Esber, MNโ€“NAS; Daisy D. Nabor, MAN-NSA (CAR), RN, RMโ€”the students will strengthen their clinical skills while developing professionalism and empathy in handling psychiatric cases.

This exposure highlights the programโ€™s dedication to well-rounded nursing education and to preparing future nurses who can provide skilled and compassionate care in various clinical settings.

Christ the King College proudly shares the participation of Dr. Norma E. Simborio, RN, MAN, DM, Dean of the Nursing Program, in the ADPCN Summer Conference 2026 held on April 30 โ€“ May 1, 2026 at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City. Organized by the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing, Inc. (ADPCN), the conference gathered nursing deans and leaders nationwide under the theme, โ€œTransforming Nursing Education for Philippine Health Priorities: Quality, Equity, and Practice Readiness.โ€

The two-day conference brought together key pillars of the nursing profession, including the Board of Nursing led by Chair Dr. Lea Paquiz, the CHED Technical Panel for Nursing, and keynote speaker Dr. Misabel Enriquez-Ho, alongside ADPCN President Dr. Sheila Bonito and members. Discussions centered on addressing the urgent need to produce globally competitive yet locally responsive nurses, strengthening nursing education from the student, faculty, and institutional levels, and aligning policies with laws shaping the profession.

Key highlights included the presentation of the Philippine Nursing Education Roadmap 2030, emphasizing collaboration among stakeholders to uplift the profession. The conference also underscored initiatives on quality assurance through accreditation, research development, faculty and nurse welfare, and global linkages, as well as micro-credentialing programs in partnership with BON, PNA, and ADPCN. Concerns on meeting the requirements of CMO No. 15, s. 2017 were also addressed, reinforcing the commitment of nursing schools to excellence and compliance.

Through Dr. Simborioโ€™s active engagement, CKC affirms its dedication to advancing nursing education and contributing to the continuous development of the Philippine healthcare system.
