Wonder why Trece Martires in Cavite was named ‘Trece Martires?’ 🤔
in 1896, 13 revolutionaries from Cavite were executed by the Spanish authorities for conspiring with the Katipuneros during the Philippine Revolution.
They would eventually be called ‘Trece Martires de Cavite’ and would collectively be the namesake of the town, while all of the thirteen barangays in the town were named after the thirteen martyrs.
