When do we use c or k for /k/ sounds at the beginning of some words? The simple rule is to use k if the sound after the initial /k/ sound is the sound of e, i or y. For other sounds after the initial /k/ sound, we use c. Of course there will be exceptions to learn as well.

One common difficulty of children with learning challenges is discriminating the letters b and d.
