West High, under the leadership of Mrs. Marilie C. Dimapilis, Principal I, and Dr. Christopher A. Luna, PSDSโ€“Cluster 8, proudly celebrated its 11th Araw ng Pag-angat through the successful conduct of the Grade 10 Moving Up Ceremony at the General Trias City Convention Center.

Anchored on the theme โ€œPilipinong Nagsipagtapos: Handang Mamuno nang May Kakayahan at Mabuting Pagkatao,โ€ the event marked a meaningful and inspiring milestone in the lives of the learners as they completed a significant chapter of their academic journey.

The program commenced with a processional, followed by solemn preliminaries. The National Anthem was conducted by Mrs. Leilanie R. Delos Santos, MAPEH Teacher, while the Panunumpa sa Watawat was led by Karl David B. Macabingkil (Grade 10โ€“Descartes). The doxology was performed by Angel Royalyn C. Mahinay (Grade 10โ€“Descartes), Roi Rossi P. Mejica (Grade 10โ€“Aristotle), Norhanna A. Maca-agir (Grade 10โ€“Aristotle), and Mc Johan C. Cruza (Grade 10โ€“Einstein). This was followed by the singing of the General Trias Hymn, conducted by Ms. Anacris A. Andres, AP Teacherโ€”setting a tone of unity, faith, and pride.

A heartfelt message was delivered on behalf of Hon. Jonas Glyn P. Labuguen by Mrs. Rowena Demotica, expressing gratitude for the guidance and blessings received throughout the school year. The opening remarks was then given by Justin R. Briones (Grade 10โ€“Einstein, With High Honors), who warmly welcomed the attendees.

Facilitated by Mr. Edmon R. Estrella, Master of Ceremonies, the program proceeded with an inspiring message from the guest speaker, Atty. Jesse Raphael R. Grepo. He emphasized that true success is built not only on knowledge and skills but also on integrity and strong character.

This school year, a total of 639 Grade 10 learners (334 male and 295 female) successfully completed the requirements for moving up. Their completion was duly affirmed by Dr. Rogin O. Contemprato, CESE, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, and Dr. Christopher A. Luna, Public Schools District Supervisor.

Behind every medal, certificate, and recognition lies a story of perseverance, hard work, and determination. This occasion not only celebrated achievements but also offered a hopeful glimpse into the bright future that awaits each completer. As highlighted in the message of Kateleen Mae O. Viloria (Grade 10โ€“Lisker, With High Honors), โ€œHiraya Manawariโ€”may your aspirations continue to soar and come to life.โ€

The ceremony also featured the Panunumpa ng Katapatan, led by Kier Laurence L. Manalo (Grade 10โ€“Aristotle, With High Honors).

In a touching tribute, the Grade 10 learners performed their final intermission numberโ€”singing and dancing to the song โ€œHirayaโ€โ€”as an expression of gratitude to their parents and teachers. The program concluded with closing remarks from Ryan D. Manesca, Grade 10 Council Head.

The success of the event was made possible through the dedication and collaboration of the Grade 10 Council and advisers, the Technical Working Group composed of teaching and non-teaching personnel, and the event organizers.

The program was meticulously prepared through rigorous rehearsals led by Mr. Lamberto C. Claveria, Master Teacher I in Science, and Mrs. Janine Alyanna A. Claveria, Mathematics Teacher. The team also included 12 marshals headed by Mr. Reynald T. Salaรฑo, TLE Teacher, and four photojournalists who documented the occasion.

Once again, congratulations to all Grade 10 completers! May you continue to dream big, strive harder, and inspire others along the way.

Outstanding contributions of SPTA Officers, SSLG Officers, School Marshals, Guidance Advocates, YES-O Officers, and Sinag Kanluran Campus Journalists were also recognized and acknowledged during the said event.

The guest speaker, Ms. Ma. Jessa Mae E. Estomo, an alumna from Batch 2012, inspired the students with a powerful message about character: โ€œYour skills can take you far, but your character determines where you stand.โ€

The highlight of the event was the awarding of medals and certificates to the learners who achieved With High Honors and With Honors from Grade 7, Grade 8, and Grade 9 respectively. Ms. Maribel Concepcion S. Taeza, a Grade 9 Learner who achieved With High Honor award, delivered a heartfelt Thanksgiving Speech. Outstanding teachers and staff were also recognized for their dedication and service. The program concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Ryan D. Manesca, Master Teacher I, and a recessional, with Mr. Meco S. Yanga and Mrs. Kareen B. Ada as masters of ceremony.

This celebration was more than just an awards ceremonyโ€”it was a testament to perseverance, determination, and the courage to excel despite challenges. Each awardee stood as a shining example of what dedication and hard work can achieve.

As the Grade 10 learners prepare to complete their Junior High School journey and move forward to a new chapter, they gathered for a meaningful recollection that encouraged reflection, growth, and faith.

The activity was led by the recollection masters, Bro. Marte H. Paras and Bro. Fernando C. Manalang of Team Jesus, who guided the learners through engaging sessions focused on self-reflection, embracing oneโ€™s flaws, and striving to become better individuals not only for themselves but also for the people around them.

The recollection was participated in by the Grade 10 learners together with their class advisers and several faculty members, making the experience even more meaningful and supportive.
The event was also graced by the School Principal, Ms. Marilie C. Dimapilis, who delivered an inspirational message to encourage the learners as they prepare for the next stage of their academic journey. This was followed by an energetic roll call facilitated by Mr. Eric Paul M. Julve.

The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates to the speakers and the Technical Working Group. Mr. Ryan D. Manseca, Grade 10 Council Head, formally wrapped up the program with his closing remarks.

Indeed, the recollection served as a moment for the learners to pause, reflect, and be reminded that they can continue to grow beyond their limits as they move forward to the next stage of their journey.
