GENERAL TRIAS CITY, CAVITE โ The Cluster 8 Mayorโs Cup Phase I successfully concluded on August 11, 2026, with a meaningful Closing Ceremony hosted by Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. West National High School (LYFJWNHS), bringing together student-athletes, coaches, school heads, and stakeholders from the six participating secondary schools in Cluster 8.

Based on the official medal tally, Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. Senior High School (LYFJSHS) emerged as the Overall Champion, garnering 23 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals for a total of 46 medals. Luis Y. Ferrer Jr. West National High School (LYFJWNHS) secured second place with 12 gold, 14 silver, and 10 bronze medals for a total of 36 medals, while Santiago Integrated National High School (SINHS) placed third with 12 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze medals, earning a total of 32 medals.
The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished officials from the Schools Division Office of General Trias City headed by Dr. Ivan Brian L. Inductivo, Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Eduarda M. Zapanta, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID); and Sir Erwin A. Asugui, Education Program Supervisor (EPS) for MAPEH.
In his inspirational message, Dr. Ivan Brian L. Her dedication and commitment ensured the smooth conduct of the closing program and other host-school responsibilities. She also continuously supported the West Ferrerian Golden Phoenix athletes and coaches, encouraging them to exemplify discipline, resilience, teamwork, and excellence throughout the competition.
Meanwhile, Dr. Christopher A. Luna, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) of Cluster 8, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all school heads, tournament managers, sports coordinators, coaches, and stakeholders for their support and cooperation, which greatly contributed to the successful conduct of the Cluster 8 Mayorโs Cup Phase I.
One of the most anticipated highlights of the closing ceremony was the awarding of the Lakambini ng Mayorโs Cup Phase I Cluster Meet. The organizers also extended their sincere appreciation to the panel of judges composed of Sir Kenneth Columna, Sir Richard Duque, and Sir Fernando Juanitas for sharing their time, expertise, and professionalism in selecting the winner.
Emerging victorious was ๐๐ฏ. ๐๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฎ ๐ก๐ถ๐ฐ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ of Lucio A. Nocon National High School (LANNHS), who was crowned Lakambini ng Mayorโs Cup Phase I Cluster Meet. Her outstanding performance, confidence, grace, and poise earned her the prestigious title among the participating candidates.
As the competition officially came to a close, the Cluster 8 Mayorโs Cup Phase I once again demonstrated the power of sports in fostering unity, excellence, and camaraderie among schools.
