Your head is indeed OLDER than your feet! According to Einsteinโ€™s theory of relativity, gravity actually affects the passage of time.

The closer you are to the Earthโ€™s center, just like how our feet are closer to the ground, the stronger the gravity is. Because of the stronger gravity, the time ticks just a tiny bit slower. On the other hand, the farther or higher up we are, just like our head, the weaker the gravity is, therefore time runs a little faster. This explains why our head is older than our feet by a little!

In 2010, physicists from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) used a clock to prove this. One clock that is placed just 33 centimeters higher ticked faster than the one below. This means every day, our head ages ever so slightly more than our feet.
