🔎 A vs. An — it’s about the sound, not just the letter.
Use “a” before words that begin with a consonant sound:
a university
a European trip
Use “an” before words that begin with a vowel sound:
an apple
an hour
Remember: what matters is the sound you hear at the beginning of the word, not just the first letter. 📚

🔎 Could’ve, Should’ve, Would’ve — not “could of,” “should of,” or “would of.”
These words are contractions of could have, should have, and would have, and they are often used when talking about past situations.
Could’ve = something was possible, but it didn’t happen.
Should’ve = something that would have been the better choice (often with regret).
Would’ve = something that could have happened if a situation was different.
A small change in spelling can change the meaning—so use them correctly! 📚✨

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” — Virginia Woolf, A Room of One’s Own
This Women’s Month, The English Guild recognizes the countless women whose voices, stories, and contributions have shaped literature, history, and society.
Today, we celebrate not only their achievements but also the power of women to write their own stories.
🔄 Less vs. Fewer — which one is correct?
Use less for things you can’t count individually, and fewer for things you can count.
A small difference, but an important one.
Learn the rule. Fix the mistake. Speak with confidence. 💬📖
🔎 Affect vs. Effect — one of the most commonly confused word pairs.
Though they sound similar, they serve different purposes.
Affect is usually a verb meaning to influence, while effect is usually a noun referring to the result.
A quick refresher to help avoid this common mistake.

Project ENRICHED 2026
What began with games, laughter, and shared stories ended with a moment we will always treasure.
After the activities, the children were given a simple choice for their prize: a candy or a book 🍬📖
One by one, little hands reached—not for the sweets—but for the stories.
In that quiet, heartwarming moment, we were reminded why this outreach truly matters.
Because when children choose books over candy, curiosity wins.
Imagination wins.
Learning wins.
Project ENRICHED 2026 was made possible through the support and cooperation of our school community.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to our School Principal, Ma’am Sally Genuino, for allowing and fully supporting this meaningful outreach program.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the English Department, headed by Ma’am Meriza Bauyon; the ICT Department, headed by Ms. Maryann Rochel Dicon; the Filipino Department; and the PE Department for their generosity and support, especially through the donated books and educational materials that greatly enriched the program.
Our deepest appreciation is also extended to the Homeowners Association of General Trias Villas for granting us permission to conduct the outreach program at Gentri Villas, Pasong Kawayan II.
Lastly, we would like to thank the student organizations Luisiano Page Turners, Southern Truth and The English Guild who supported and joined us in making Project ENRICHED 2026 a success.
