๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. The meeting aimed to provide teachers with clear guidance on the latest reforms that seek not to add more tasks, but to reduce confusion, clarify direction, and better support teaching and learning.
A major point of discussion was the ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐- ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ข ๐จ๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ก ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง, which restructures the school year to protect instructional time, reduce fragmentation, and support deeper learning. Under Department of Education Order No. 009, s. 2026, School Year 2026โ2027 will implement a three-term structure with 201 class days, consistent with the legal requirement of 200 to 220 class days. The school year is organized into longer instructional blocks, supported by opening, enrichment, and end-of-term periods. This design aims to provide more uninterrupted teaching time, structured remediation, and dedicated periods for teachersโ professional tasks such as lesson preparation, checking of outputs, and computation of grades.
The faculty also discussed the ๐ก๐๐จ๐จ๐ค๐ฃ ๐ฅ๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ข, which transforms lesson planning from a compliance-driven requirement into a focused, flexible, and meaningful professional practice. Rather than producing documents merely for submission, teachers are encouraged to prepare lesson plans that directly respond to learnersโ needs, classroom realities, and instructional goals. This reform emphasizes professional judgment, intentional planning, and effective classroom implementation.
Another important reform highlighted was the ๐๐จ๐จ๐๐จ๐จ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ข, which strengthens classroom assessment to better support learning, fairness, and learner well-being. Beginning School Year 2026โ2027, Kindergarten to Grade 2 learners will receive descriptive and non-numeric ratings, while Grades 3 to 12 will adopt an adjusted transmutation table, where a raw grade of 70.00 will be reflected as 75. These changes aim to make grading more developmentally appropriate, clearer for learners and parents, and more supportive of meaningful progress monitoring.
The meeting also covered Through the ๐๐ก๐๐ญ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ข, schools are better equipped to ensure that every learner can access quality education regardless of context, circumstance, or disruption. Complementing this is ๐๐๐ช๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ข๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐จ (๐๐๐), which introduces a levels-based Learning Continuity Framework that prioritizes learner and teacher well-being while preventing learning loss. The framework includes: Hayo/Continue, where regular learning proceeds; Hinay/Lessen, where learning delivery is adjusted; Hinga/Check-in, where schools prioritize well-being and learner contact; and Hinto/Stop, where instruction is temporarily suspended when safety is at risk. These reforms were included in the national orientation for the three-term calendar to ensure orderly and well-supported implementation across schools.
Following the discussion of these reforms, ๐

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ who will serve in key leadership and support roles for the school. These included focal persons of each department, council heads for every grade level, acting guidance counselor, school registrar, COSD coordinator, SPA coordinator, STE coordinator, and other designated personnel.
The meeting reaffirmed the schoolโs commitment to responsive leadership, organized implementation, and shared responsibility. With clear policies, strengthened systems, and empowered teacher-leaders in place, North High is steadily preparing for School Year 2026โ2027, ensuring readiness to deliver a more streamlined, learner-centered, and quality-driven education for all.
