September 8 | Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

With joyful hearts, the Thomasian community of UST General Santos celebrates the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our loving Mother who gently leads us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

On this special feast, may her humility, faith, and tenderness inspire us to live with greater love, hope, and generosity in the spirit of Veritas.

UST General Santos joins the Dominican Family in mourning the passing of Bro. Jose F. Francisco, OP, affectionately known as Fray Jo, who returned to the Lord on August 31, 2026, at the age of 80.

Fray Jo, faithfully served as Property Custodian of UST General Santos. We remember with gratitude his dedicated service, generous presence, and commitment to the institution and the Thomasian community.

His wake is being held at the Santo Domingo Parish Hall, Quezon City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Santo Domingo Church, followed by his interment at the Santuario de Santo Domingo.

We ask the Thomasian community to join us in prayer for the eternal repose of his soul and for the consolation of the Dominican Family, his loved ones, confreres, colleagues, and friends.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

The School of Health Sciences will hold its monthly Mass on August 24, 2026, in the St. Martin de Porres Filial House Chapel. The holy mass will start at 09:00AM. All SHSCI academic and support staff, SHSCI-assigned GE academic staff, and SHSCI students, regardless of religious affiliation, are enjoined to attend.
