Dapat na pagtuunan nating pansin ang foundation ng pagkatuto ng mga bata, ang pagbabasa.

Kung tutungtong sila sa panibagong grade level, dapat ay masig**o nating natutunan nilang mabuti ang kanilang mga aralinโ€ฆ

They need a formal education na mag-eequip sa kanila ng knowledge and skills na magagamit in the future at ang self-education na maglelead sa kanila upang makamit ang kanilang pangarap ๐Ÿ“š

HINDI NA ITO PWEDE!

Hindi na tayo pwedeng maghintay pa ng ibang pagkakataon,

Lalong HINDI na dapat natin hintaying mas lumala ang problema ng mga batang Pilipino sa pagbabasaโ€ฆ

This is what we do!

Ang sarap talagang tingnan na independent na sya! Pupunta na lang sya sa study/play area nya tapos kukuha ng workbook tapos kahit hindi pa nya nababasa yung instructions sinasagutan nya na ๐Ÿ˜… in all fairness kapag tinitingnan ko naman ang sagot eh tama naman. Medyo sa sobrang independent nga lang ayaw ng magpaturo lalo na kapag alam nya sa sarili nyang kaya naman nya ๐Ÿ˜…

I started homeschooling her when she was 15months or 17 months ata. DIY homeschool lang kami. We started from alphabets, sounds and movements of animals, and colors tapos tuloy-tuloy na.

Things I learned sa pagtuturo kay Cali:

1. Incorporate learning sa interes ng bata. If she loves music then teach math or reading through music. If he/she loves art then incorporate science through crafts, painting, or drawing. If she loves playing then incorporate learning through pretend play.

2. Never force the child to learn. Kapag kasi pinilit ang bata na mag-aral maaaring maging dahilan ito para lalo nilang ayawan ang pag-aaral. At magkaroon na ng hindi magandang connotation sa kanila ang pag-aaral. Mas malaking problema yun.

3. Huwag iinterrupt ang bata kapag thry are trying to answer or do things on their own kahit mali ang sagot. Kasi imbes na maging confident sila ay lalo natin silang madiscourage baka kasi mapahiya sila. We can teach them na lang kung ano ang tama after nilang gawin ang activity.

4. Notice the effort not just the outcome. Napansin ko na kapag sa outcome ang focus ay napanghihinaan na sila ng loob kapag nagkakamali. So instead of keep trying umaayaw na lang sila.

5. Let them take a rest kung kinakailangan. Make sure na maiparamdam natin sa kanila na ang pag-aaral ay masayang gawin. It's not just a requirement na kailangang isubmit sa deadline.

6. Limit the use of gadgets/screen. Kapag kasi dumadalas ang screentime parang lalo silang hindi nagiging interesado sa ibang activities. They find it boring na.

Sana makatulong ito kasi nakakatuwa everytime nakikita ko si Cali na nag-aaral on her own. I know madaming magulang ang matutuwa kapag nakita natin ang mga anak natin na nag-eenjoy matuto.
