Every single KaPwersa took the personal initiative to look outside their own front doors and evaluate the immediate needs of their immediate surroundings. From assessing neighbors to coordinating localized distribution networks, KaPwersa utilized their current locations as active service points.

With this year's Filipino Social Workers' Day theme: Harambee. It’s a reminder that when the world pulls us apart, we must pull together.

The Social Work Program of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges-Gensan mourns the passing of Bro. Crispin Paez Betita Jr. FMS, a man whose life became a living testimony of compassion, service, and unconditional love for the vulnerable.

Brother Crispin was more than the founder of Marcellin Foundation. He was a father to countless children who felt abandoned, forgotten, and unheard. Through his gentle heart and selfless mission, he became a refuge for the wounded and a light for those who only knew darkness.

For many KaPwersa students, Brother Crispin was their mentor, a guiding soul who taught them that social work is never just a profession, but a calling rooted in humanity, empathy, and service. For generations, he molded social work students to become servant-leaders who are willing to stand at the frontlines for children’s rights and protection.

Today, we mourn not only because we lost a great man, but because the world lost a heart so rare and pure.

Daghang Salamat, Brother Crispin, for showing us what it truly means to serve with love. Thank you for teaching us that even the smallest act of kindness can change a life forever. You may have left this world, but your legacy will continue to live in the hearts you healed and the lives you transformed.

Heaven has gained a servant with the gentlest heart.
