In adherence to 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟏𝟔𝟓, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, of the Department of Education – Schools Division of General Santos City, Labangal National High School implemented Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) activities as part of the school’s resumption of face-to-face classes following a disruptive event.

The initiative is in line with the directive requiring all schools resuming face-to-face classes to conduct MHPSS activities during the first two days of class resumption, with the goal of providing appropriate psychosocial support to 100% of the enrolled learner population.

Through the conduct of MHPSS activities, LabNHS reinforces its commitment to ensuring that the recovery of its learners goes beyond the physical return to classrooms. The school recognizes that supporting learners’ emotional and psychosocial well-being is an essential part of creating a safe, caring, and conducive learning environment.

In adherence to 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟒𝟎, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟐 (𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲), existing DepEd policies on learner safety and protection, applicable laws, and local security protocols, Labangal National High School continues to strengthen its preventive security measures to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.

The school strictly prohibits the bringing of fi****ms, deadly weapons, and other prohibited items into the school premises. As part of its safety measures, authorized school personnel conduct appropriate security screening at designated entry points, including the use of metal-scanning procedures when necessary.

The initiative supports the Department of Education’s continuing efforts to strengthen school safety and security and protect learners from potential threats and violence. Recent DepEd issuances have likewise reiterated the strict implementation of measures under 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟎𝟎𝟔, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐄𝐒𝐌𝐋𝐄), to ensure safe school environments.

Following the flag ceremony, Labangal National High School activated its Emergency Response Team to conduct a micro earthquake drill aimed at strengthening the preparedness and safety awareness of learners and school personnel.

𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐈 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐒. 𝐀𝐫𝐳𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐧 led the activation of the Emergency Response Team as part of the school’s continuing efforts to ensure that learners are familiar with proper safety procedures during an earthquake and other emergencies.

Under the Emergency Response Team, 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐒. 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞; 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐳, 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌) 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫; and 𝐌𝐚’𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐨𝐧, 𝐂𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌/𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫, worked alongside focal person teachers and ground marshals to secure designated areas and guide learners throughout the drill.

Teachers and ground marshals assisted in maintaining order as learners practiced the established “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure before safely proceeding to their designated areas. The activity also provided an opportunity for the school to assess the readiness of its emergency response mechanisms and identify areas for further improvement.

Meanwhile, Red Cross Volunteers and Supreme Secondary Learner Council (SSLC) officers assisted in the conduct of the drill by helping facilitate the movement of learners, maintaining safety in designated areas, and supporting teachers and emergency personnel during the activity.

Face-to-face classes in public elementary and secondary schools in General Santos City may continue on any day this week following the joint press conference conducted by the General Santos City Government and the Department of Education (DepEd) General Santos City on August 11, 2026.

The announcement provides schools with the opportunity to resume regular in-person learning while maintaining heightened attention to the safety and security of learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel.

At Labangal National High School, learners returning to face-to-face classes are reminded to strictly observe the school’s Safety Primer and existing safety and security protocols. These measures are intended to ensure that learning activities continue in a safe, organized, and responsive school environment, August 13, 2026.

As face-to-face classes resume, LabNHS calls on learners, parents, teachers, and school personnel to remain vigilant and cooperative. Safety remains a shared responsibility, and strict adherence to established protocols is essential to maintaining a secure and conducive learning environment.

DEPED GENSAN, PINALALAKAS ANG KALIGTASAN AT KAHANDAAN SA MGA PAARALAN

Pinaiigting ng Department of Education–General Santos City Division ang mga hakbang para matiyak ang ligtas, secure, child-friendly, at disaster-ready na mga paaralan ngayong School Year 2026–2027.

Batay sa School Safety & Preparedness Primer, binibigyang-diin ang anim na pangunahing hakbang: seguridad sa campus, proteksyon sa paligid ng paaralan, kahandaan sa sakuna, kaligtasan ng mga mag-aaral, proteksyon sa bawat bata, at mabilis na pag-uulat at pagtugon sa insidente.

Kabilang sa mga itinatampok na hakbang ang mahigpit na visitor management, paggamit at pagsusuri ng CCTV at lighting systems, pakikipagtulungan sa PNP at barangay, pagpapanatili ng safe school zones, regular na earthquake at fire drills, hazard mapping at evacuation planning, classroom safety checks, health and sanitation measures, child protection, mental health support, cyber safety, at pagkakaroon ng maayos na emergency communication at incident reporting system.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga hakbang na ito, muling binibigyang-diin ng DepEd GenSan na ang kaligtasan sa paaralan ay responsibilidad ng lahat—mga school personnel, mag-aaral, magulang, partners, at buong komunidad.

ADVISORY | PAGBABALIK NG FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

Batay sa isinagawang joint press conference ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng General Santos at DepEd General Santos City ngayong hapon, Agosto 11, 2026, maaaring ipagpatuloy anumang araw ngayong linggo ang face-to-face classes sa lahat ng pampublikong paaralang elementarya at sekondarya.

Inaatasan ang lahat ng paaralan na mahigpit na ipatupad ang kanilang School Safety Primer at mga umiiral na protocol sa kaligtasan at seguridad. Kabilang dito ang paggamit lamang ng mga silid-aralan sa ground floor at second floor, araw-araw na maiikling emergency drill, malinaw na proseso ng muling pagsasama ng mga mag-aaral at kanilang pamilya, maayos na sistema ng komunikasyon, at malapit na pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na ahensiya para sa kaligtasan at pagtugon sa emerhensiya.

Pinahihintulutan din ang mga school head na tukuyin ang pinakaangkop na learning modality—full face-to-face, limited face-to-face, modular, online, o blended learning—batay sa kahandaan at pangangailangan ng paaralan, gayundin sa umiiral na sitwasyon.

Ang lahat ay pinaaalalahanang manatiling mapagmatyag, kalmado, at laging unahin ang kaligtasan habang patuloy tayong bumabangon at unti-unting nagbabalik sa normal na operasyon ng mga paaralan.
