Organized by UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies in partnership with Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology’s Gender and Development Center, Kataas-taasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral, and Council of Organizations. IN-QUEER-Y: A Student's Guide to Queering the Campus is a capacity-building webinar designed for aspiring q***r student organizers, student council representatives, campus leaders, and advocates.

Through discussions and practical insights from experienced organizers, participants will explore the fundamentals of SOGIESC, community-building, organizational sustainability, and policy advocacy to strengthen inclusive leadership and cultivate welcoming campus communities.

In light of the recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake that affected General Santos City and neighboring communities, the planned Inclusivity Walk will no longer proceed as originally envisioned.

As students of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, we understand the challenges faced by coastal and fishing communities during times of crisis. Today, we stand with the people of 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐬, 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 as they work to recover from the devastating impacts of the recent 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 7.8 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬.

One of the remote barangays in Glan, Margus has been severely affected by the disaster, leaving many families in urgent need of assistance. Homes have been damaged, access to basic necessities has become limited, and many residents are now facing uncertainty as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives and livelihoods.

In response, the Fisheries Students' Organization is launching 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐬, a donation drive aimed at providing immediate relief and support to affected families in the community.

𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬. With the collapse of the Sapu Masla Bridge, one of the major access routes to affected communities, transportation and logistics have become increasingly difficult. In this regard, we sincerely welcome transport services, logistical assistance, and other forms of support from organizations, agencies, private groups, and volunteers who are willing to help bring relief goods to those in need.

Furthermore, we are open to partnerships and collaborative relief efforts to extend assistance not only to Barangay Margus but also to neighboring communities, like Barangay San Jose and other nearby barangays that have likewise been affected by the disaster.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 | 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐎𝐋: 𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭

The 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐒𝐔 attended the recently conducted 𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐎𝐋: 𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭 on May 17–19, 2026, at Mt. Sabrina Panoramic View and Resort.

The three-day in-house leadership training provided participants with meaningful learning experiences through insightful plenary sessions, interactive discussions, and engaging symposiums. Youth leaders were given the opportunity to openly discuss the challenges they face, reflect on their leadership journeys, and explore practical ways to strengthen their skills and effectiveness as leaders.

More than just a breather from the demands of leadership, SIBOL served as a genuine reset—encouraging participants to reevaluate their perspectives on leadership and personal growth. One of the program's key takeaways was the realization that effective leadership is not solely defined by toughness or authority. Rather, it is often rooted in emotional awareness, empathy, and the ability to communicate meaningfully with others.

Through this transformative experience, participants were reminded that leadership is not only about leading people but also about understanding them, serving them, and growing alongside them.
