Please be informed that, pursuant to Executive Order No. 54, Series of 2026 OF LGU Gensan, there will be NO WORK and NO CLASSES on October 5, 2026 (Monday) in observance of the declared work suspension in public and private schools in General Santos City, in celebration of World Teacher’s Day.

In view of this, the Teachers’ Day Celebration of Pacific Southbay College, Inc. will be MOVED to October 6, 2026 (Tuesday).

The Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) students came together for Pagsuhid 2026, featuring the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Junior Social Workers’ Association of the Philippines (JSWAP) – PSCI Chapter and an Acquaintance Party, fostering a day of fellowship and celebration.

Through these captured moments, the event reflects the students’ shared experiences, from welcoming a new chapter of leadership to spending time with their fellow social work students. Each photograph holds a glimpse of the conversations, smiles, and connections that made the gathering meaningful.

‎JSWAP NATIONAL | FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2026
‎
‎The Junior Social Workers’ Association of the Philippines – National successfully held its First General Assembly for A.Y. 2026–2027, bringing together the National Officers and Regional Clusters from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for meaningful dialogue, learning, and collective action.
‎
‎The assembly featured a National Situationer led by Kathryn “Ryn” Herras, and a discussion about “Student Power (Youth in the March)” and “Youth on the March (The Role of Students for the Country),” led by Rhon Andre Montero. Additionally, the JSWAP - National President also presented the GSPOA of the JSWAP National Council.

‎The First General Assembly served as a space for awareness, participation, and purposeful leadership, strengthening our collective commitment to meaningful action.

Dr. Loveleih Quemado, RSW, Dean of the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program of Pacific Southbay College, Inc. (PSCI), served as the Keynote Speaker during the Capability Building for MCPC Members and Stakeholders held on September 3–4, 2026 at Felissa Resort & Restaurant. Organized by the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC), the two-day activity focused on “Strengthening Child Protection Laws, Case Management, and Team Development,” bringing together MCPC members and stakeholders to enhance their knowledge, skills, and collaborative efforts in safeguarding children’s rights and welfare.

Dr. Quemado shared her expertise and insights on child protection, effective case management, and the importance of teamwork and inter-agency collaboration in addressing concerns affecting children and families. Her participation highlights the commitment of PSCI to community engagement, professional excellence, and social responsibility, while strengthening the role of social work education in building safer, more responsive, and child-friendly communities.

As we welcome the beginning of the “Ber Months,” may this season also remind us to keep moving forward, stay motivated, and make the most of the remaining months of the year. Amid the busy days and growing responsibilities, may we continue to find reasons to learn, grow, and celebrate every little achievement along the way.

This month, we are reminded that sometimes, the people around us may be fighting battles we cannot see. A simple “How are you?” a patient conversation, a listening ear, or a little kindness can mean more than we realize.

To anyone who is struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or simply trying to get through the day, please remember that you do not have to face everything alone. It is okay to ask for help, to take a break, and to admit that things are not okay. Your feelings are valid, and your presence matters.

And to everyone around us, let us choose to be kinder. We may never know what someone is silently carrying, so let our words be gentle, our actions be understanding, and our presence be a safe space for those who need someone to stay and listen.

Su***de prevention is not only a reminder for September. Let us continue to check in on one another, listen without judgment, and offer kindness and support whenever someone needs it. Sometimes, simply being there can make a difference.

Everyone is expected to wear the complete and proper prescribed uniform during school hours and while inside the school premises.
