DEFORESTATION

Deforestation is the large-scale removal of trees for agriculture, logging, or urban development. While it provides economic benefits, its environmental impact is severe. Forests support biodiversity, regulate climate, and protect soil. When trees are cut down, wildlife loses habitats, leading to species extinction. Deforestation also contributes to climate change by releasing stored carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, increasing greenhouse gases. Without trees, soil erodes, causing landslides and reduced fertility. To combat deforestation, reforestation and sustainable land use are essential. Governments must enforce environmental laws, and individuals can help by reducing waste and supporting eco-friendly products. Protecting forests is crucial for maintaining ecological balance and ensuring a healthy planet for future generations. Immediate action is needed to stop deforestation and preserve Earth’s natural resources.
