Earlier today, August 14, 2026, NASA Elementary School experienced an actual earthquake, prompting an immediate and coordinated response from our school community.

Learners, teachers, and personnel calmly followed established safety protocols, moved to designated safe areas, and remained alert while the situation was assessed. The calm and orderly response demonstrated the importance of preparedness and knowing what to do during an emergency.

Today’s experience reminds us that earthquakes can happen without warning. Let this serve as a reminder to stay informed, stay prepared, and always put safety first.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, buong ipinagmamalaki ng NASA Elementary School ang pagsasagawa ng Pambungad na Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong Agosto 10, 2026 ng umaga sa NASA Elementary School Gymnasium. Bitbit ang tema na “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon,” binigyang-diin ng programa ang mahalagang papel ng wikang Filipino sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng kaalaman, teknolohiya, at makabagong paraan ng pagkatuto.

Sinimulan ang makabuluhang programa sa mga seremonyang nagbibigay-pugay sa bayan—mula sa pagpupugay sa watawat, panalangin, panunumpa sa watawat at sa lingkod-bayan, mga himno ng Rehiyon XII, Lungsod ng General Santos, at NASA Elementary School, hanggang sa pambungad na pananalita at pampasiglang bilang. Ang mga gawaing ito ay nagsilbing paalala na ang pagdiriwang ng wika ay hindi lamang tungkol sa paggamit ng Filipino, kundi tungkol din sa pagpapahalaga sa ating pagkakakilanlan, kultura, at pagiging makabayan.

Naging mahalagang bahagi rin ng programa ang pagpapakilala sa tema at mga gawain ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, na pinangunahan ng mga g**o at mga tagapangasiwa ng paaralan. Sa pamumuno ni Gng. Lyan G. Madero, Tagapangasiwa sa Filipino, katuwang sina Gng. Jessica T. Verallo, Punongg**o IV, at G. Mallon Ryant B. Cortez, itinalagang Pangalawang Punongg**o, patuloy na itinataguyod ng NASA Elementary School ang isang pagdiriwang na naglalayong palalimin ang pagpapahalaga ng mga mag-aaral sa wikang Filipino. Kasama rin sa programa ang mga g**ong gaganap bilang mga hurado, tagapagdaloy, at katuwang sa iba’t ibang gawain at patimpalak.

Sa kabuuan, ang pambungad na pagdiriwang ay naging makabuluhang paalala na ang wika at teknolohiya ay maaaring magsanib upang maging mas malawak ang daan tungo sa kaalaman at impormasyon. Sa pamamagitan ng Filipino bilang daluyan ng pagkatuto at AI bilang makabagong kasangkapan sa pananaliksik, hinihikayat ang bawat mag-aaral at g**o na gamitin ang teknolohiya nang responsable, mapanuri, at makabuluhan. Tunay na sa NASA Elementary School, buhay ang wikang Filipino—at patuloy itong ginagamit bilang tulay tungo sa mas malawak na kaalaman, pagkakakilanlan, at kinabukasan. 🇵🇭📚🤖

𝟏𝙨𝙩 𝙎𝙋𝙏𝘼 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙨: 𝘼 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 ✨✨

NASA Elementary School successfully conducted its 1st SPTA General Assembly and Induction of Officers on August 7, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the NASA Elementary School Covered Court, bringing together school leaders, teachers, parents, officers, and community stakeholders in a meaningful celebration of partnership and shared responsibility. The program formally opened with the Singing of the National Anthem, Opening Prayer, DepEd Region XII Hymn, and GenSan March, followed by the Roll Call led by Jaybee G. Catubay, SPTA Secretary, and the Welcome Message from Mr. Mallon Ryant B. Cortez, MT-I, Assistant School Head Designate.

The assembly highlighted the Presentation of the Newly Elected SPTA, GrPTA, and HRPTA Officers, followed by their formal Induction of Officers. Councilor Richard “Ric” Atendido represented Hon. Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao, City Mayor, and delivered the Mayor’s message on her behalf during the gathering. He also served as the Inducting Officer for the newly elected SPTA officers. The occasion further marked the Turn-Over of Responsibilities from Mrs. Jenny Fe D. Lim, Outgoing SPTA President, to Mr. Rene F. Catigan, Jr., Newly Inducted SPTA President, symbolizing the continuity of leadership and commitment to service. The outgoing SPTA officers were likewise recognized through the Awarding of Certificates, presented by Ma’am Jessica T. Verallo, Ed.D., Principal IV, in appreciation of their dedication and valuable contributions.

The gathering was further enriched by the message of Kagawad Hon. Ryde Petaca of BLGU Fatima and the inspirational message of Ma’am Jessica T. Verallo, Ed.D., Principal IV, emphasizing the importance of strong collaboration among the school, families, and community in supporting every learner. This was followed by the Presentation of the SPTA Proposed Plans by Mr. Rene F. Catigan, Jr., outlining the organization's priorities and initiatives for the school community. The participants also enjoyed the Raffle Draw, made possible through the support of the SPTA officers and sponsors, followed by the Acknowledgement of Norsierra G. Ali, SPTA Vice President, for her support and participation in the activity.

The formal gathering concluded with the Closing Prayer led by Rocelyn B. Café, Teacher I, followed by the much-anticipated Zumba and Foam Party, facilitated by Junaiden T. Cadil, Master of Ceremony. More than an induction ceremony, the event served as a celebration of new leadership, renewed commitment, and strengthened school-community partnership. With the collective efforts of the school, parents, teachers, SPTA officers, and community partners, NASA Elementary School continues to uphold the spirit of Bayanihan and its commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for the welfare, development, and success of every learner.
