Bridging NDDU and Barangay Baluan for Community Reading 📚 April 6, 2026.

Thank you, Barangay Baluan, headed by Barangay Captain Hon. Dennis S. Besa, for warmly accommodating the outreach initiative of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) librarians and Library Science students at your Barangay Reading Center.

This meaningful activity focused on the categorization and arrangement of books, helping make the center’s resources more organized and accessible for the community.

Special thanks to the NDDU Junior Librarians’ Organization (JLO), led by Kristina Cassandra Cuarentas and Cherry Faith B. Saturos, MLIS, RL, with the support of the NDDU Library and Administration, for spearheading this initiative.

𝟲𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Today, we honor the vital role of public libraries as pillars of knowledge, learning, and community empowerment. Guided by this year’s theme, “Public Libraries in Action: Blueprint of an Empowered Community,” we recognize how libraries continue to open doors to education, inspire curiosity among the youth, and strengthen the foundation of informed and progressive communities.

Public libraries are not merely spaces filled with books—they are centers of opportunity, innovation, and lifelong learning. They serve as bridges that connect individuals to knowledge, ideas, and possibilities that shape a brighter future for all.

As we celebrate this meaningful occasion, may we continue to support and promote our libraries, ensuring that they remain accessible spaces where minds are nurtured, dreams are discovered, and communities grow stronger together.
