The Campus Curriculum Committee (CCC) conducted a successful meeting with representatives from multiple colleges at Mindanao State University โ General Santos to discuss vital academic endeavors, including the Presentation of the Adoption of the Diploma in Women, Peace, and Security, Finalization of Class Observation Guidelines, Assessment Course Pack Submission, and Learning and Educational Assessment Development (LEAD) Tier 1 Workshop Updates.
The meeting featured a thorough deliberation on the Adoption of the Diploma in Women, Peace, and Security. Concerns raised about specific forms were systematically addressed through open discussion and collaborative input, showcasing their relevance in advancing curriculum implementation and elevating instructional quality.
Moreover, various representatives opened their queries and offered valuable recommendations that were carefully considered during the finalization of the CO Guidelines. Key revisions were agreed upon, ensuring the guidelines are comprehensive, practical, and aligned with stakeholder needs.

The Campus Curriculum Committee (CCC) successfully convened with representatives from various colleges of Mindanao State University โ General Santos to deliberate on key academic initiatives, including the Class Observation (CO) Guidelines, Calendar of Activities, Course Pack Submission, LEAD Workshops, and the Instructional Development Manual.
The meeting brought together faculty leaders from the Center for Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing (CCSID) and across the University, demonstrating a strong spirit of collaboration in advancing curriculum implementation and enhancing instructional quality.

The Center for Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing (CCSID) successfully conducted an orientation called Course Pack 101: Understanding, Using, and Excelling with Your Materials on April 1, 2026, via Zoom. The activity brought together faculty members from the Universityโs various colleges in a unified effort to strengthen instructional delivery and promote outcomes-based practices.
The program formally commenced with an opening statement delivered by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, who articulated the strategic direction of the initiative and underscored the importance of well-structured course materials in achieving intended learning outcomes.
This was followed by an overview of course packs and instructional materials presented by Dr. Michael B. Cahapay, Director of CCSID, who emphasized their role in ensuring alignment, coherence, and quality in teaching and learning processes.
Subsequently, Prof. Jessel Gay Wacan, a member of the Campus Curriculum Committee, discussed essential course pack components, including the class list, seating plan, course syllabus, orientation form, and accommodation form. Dr. Cahapay further elaborated on the preparation and utilization of the Weekly Lesson Log and Learning Guide, highlighting their significance in instructional planning and delivery.
In addition, Prof. Ma. Gladys Caliza, also a member of the Campus Curriculum Committee, provided insights on the development of the Table of Specifications and Assessment Tools, reinforcing the principles of constructive alignment and valid assessment practices. Dr. Berlita Y. Disca, likewise a committee member, presented the E-Class Register and record management processes to support systematic documentation and monitoring of student performance.
The proceedings were seamlessly facilitated by Dr. Ian Jay Sunio, ensuring an engaging and organized flow of discussions throughout the program.

The Center for Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing convened a consultation on the Class Observation Guidelines on March 27, 2026, via Zoom, bringing together representatives from CIMD, QUAMSS, VCAA, and selected faculty members from the Universityโs various colleges.
The program commenced with a Statement of Purpose delivered by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mishell D. Lawas, setting the direction for the initiative. This was followed by an overview of Instructional Supervision and Evaluation presented by Dr. Jovar Pantao, Director of the Center for Instructional Materials and Development.
Subsequently, Prof. Jessel Gay Wacan, a member of the Campus Curriculum Committee, outlined the development process and timeline of the Class Observation Guidelines. Dr. Michael B. Cahapay, Director of the Center for Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing, then highlighted the key features and core components of the guidelines.

Advancing institutional commitment to quality teaching, the Center for Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing (CCSID) successfully conducted its 1st University Teaching (UTeach) Induction Program on March 18, 2026, at the Regional Science Research Center Conference Hall, Mindanao State University-General Santos.
The program formally opened with ceremonial proceedings, including the welcome address of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mishell D. Lawas. She administered the Oath to Teaching of the 22 newly hired faculty members for the school year 2025-2026, signifying their professional integration into the academic community.
The morning sessions were anchored on the MSU-Gensan Philosophy of Education, providing participants with a foundational understanding of their roles within the broader context of university curriculum and instruction. They were also oriented on the two important documents: the college curriculum catalog and course syllabus.
A series of expert-led sessions followed, focusing on essential domains of instructional designing. These included the articulation of course and learning outcomes guided by SMART and WISER principles, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and institutional standards. Emphasis was likewise placed on the responsible and strategic use of artificial intelligence in instructional design supporting outcome formulation and alignment. Complementing were sessions on the selection of content and referencing, teaching-learning strategies and assessment to ensure coherence, rigor, and relevance in instructional delivery.
The afternoon workshop provided a collaborative and application-driven session where participants developed aligned course components, culminating in output presentations and a ways forward session that reinforced continuous quality improvement and shared accountability in curriculum implementation.
The workshop was facilitated by the Campus Curriculum Committee Core Group, Dr. Berlita Disca, Prof. Jessel Gay Wacan, Prof. Maria Gladys Claiza, Dr. Ian Jay Sunio, and Ms. Hannah Mariez Legarda under the leadership of Dr. Michael B.
