Life is fickle. Growing up, we are moulded in preparation for when the day comes. For the moment where our training wheels are removed and we are thrust into the real world. However, nothing quite prepares us for the fear and discomfort that greets us upon the face of uncertainty.

The ‘fight or flight’ instinct creeps in. And the temptation to crawl back within the confines of familiarity becomes unbearable.

But is comfort truly worth the cost of missed opportunities? Life is fleeting, after all. ‘Carpe Diem’ or ‘Seize the day’ reminds us that we only discover what life has to offer when we dare to take risks. As they say, it’s better to have failed trying than to have never tried at all.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 | To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (𝗼𝗿, 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿)

September flew by in a swift haze. Its departure opened the gateway to a cloudy and mysterious October. The days ahead may leave little room for certainty, but one thing is for sure: letters will never go out of style.

Letters are a testament to many things—whether professional communication, adolescent romance, or even filing a complaint. They come in all shapes and sizes, and they remain one of the most timeless and powerful forms of writing.

We may never be able to predict the future, but we can always choose to preserve our feelings in the present and turn them into treasures of the past. Just like how the hopeless romantic Lara Jean wrote her letters, you, too, can capture your thoughts on paper. And while there’s no guarantee it’ll win you your own Peter Kavinsky, at least you’ll know how to write a letter when the time comes.

𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 | 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴

Towns got flooded again last week. The water was brown and dirty, and it went almost up to their knees! Everyone had to carry their furniture upstairs. It happens almost every year when there's a big rain.

They say there are big, expensive projects called "flood control." They're supposed to build walls and drainage systems so the water goes away. I see the projects sometimes, big pipes and dug-up roads.

But my question is, why does it keep flooding?

My Mama and Papa talk about 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙪𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. It means when people who are in charge use the project money for themselves instead of for the actual work. Like, maybe they buy a cheap pipe instead of a strong one, and keep the extra money.

If I were a leader, even just for one day, I would make sure the flood control money goes where it's supposed to go. I would check the pipes myself to see if they are the best quality.

True leadership, I think, means being honest. It means when you promise to fix the flood, you actually fix the flood, not just pretend to. It means caring more about the thousands of people who can't go to work or school because of the water, than about having more money in your pocket.

We need leaders who will build a strong foundation for our country, not just one that washes away with the next big rain. And if they won't do it, then we will stand up and make them listen.

We can't just sigh and move on when the water finally drains. We need to remember how high that muddy flood went when it’s time to choose people to lead us. We also need to speak up when we see corners being cut.

We are the future, and we won't let them keep doing things the wrong way. We deserve a country that is built to last and 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.

Let’s take a moment to remember that sometimes, the smallest act of kindness can become someone’s reason to hold on. A simple “How are you?” or “I’m here for you” might mean more than we’ll ever know. ✨

Let’s not forget to check on the strong ones—the friends who are always smiling, the ones who lift everyone else up, the ones who seem unshakable. Even diamonds, as unbreakable as they seem, can be chipped under pressure. 💎

And if you’re the one carrying heavy burdens right now, please don’t give up. 🌱

The world is brighter with you in it. Healing may take time, but it’s never out of reach—you matter, you are loved, and your story isn’t finished yet. 💛

FNHS English Club joined and represented Barangay Fatima in the recent GenPeace Champyon 2025: GenSan Youth Champion in Every Step along the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), STE Federation, and SK Fatima at Mindanao State University last September 14, 2025.

Organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 12, Local Government Unit (LGU) GenSan, and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of different barangays, this city-wide event intends to promote peace among the youth of General Santos under the Capacitating Communities for Peace and Development (CUCPD) Program.

𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮'𝙨 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙖!

Ever been told "𝘿𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨, 𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚!" and felt totally conflicted? You might be staring down an ultimatum! It's a feeling that you have to do something, even though you know it might backfire.

An ultimatum is a final demand or condition, the 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 of which will lead to 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 or 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. It's that moment when you're given a non-negotiable demand, and the repercussions of not complying are looming large. It's that feeling where you're torn between two undesirable options.

Let's face it, most of us have probably been on the receiving end of a completely absurd ultimatum at some point! It's that thing where your gut is screaming "𝘾𝘼𝙍𝙀𝙁𝙐𝙇!" but you're driven to make a decision.
