𝐘𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐃𝐀𝐘 | May 9, 2026 — BAKTAS MSU Mountaineering Society successfully conducted an ocular visit at Amsikong Falls and Sanchez Peak (Avocado Trail) in Barangay Conel.

The activity focused on assessing trail conditions, identifying possible hazards, evaluating the accessibility of the area, and ensuring the overall preparedness and safety of the team. The traverse also allowed the members to familiarize themselves with the route while appreciating the beauty and challenges of the natural environment.

Beyond the inspection, the activity strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and the organization’s commitment to responsible and disciplined mountaineering.

Special thanks to our guide, Sir Ivan, for his assistance and guidance throughout the activity.

The Basic Mountaineering Course for Batch 26 and guest participants has successfully concluded today, March 28–29, 2026, at the College of Agriculture, Tanghal Building, Nursery Area. Congratulations to all participants for their dedication, hard work, and commitment throughout the training! Your perseverance and enthusiasm made this course a great success. The final day was all about putting knowledge into action. Building on yesterday’s lectures, participants applied what they learned through hands-on activities and actual field exercises.

From navigation to teamwork and decision-making, skills were tested and strengthened on the ground.

Learning by doing one step closer to becoming capable and responsible mountaineers!

We kicked off Saturday with a full day of learning! From navigation and backpacking to climb ethics and emergency response, our participants are now one step closer to becoming confident and responsible climbers.

Along with the lectures, participants also engaged in First Aid training and simulations, joined by fellow BMC participants from outside the organization. These activities were organized to prepare them for a specialized training program designed to develop responsible and well-equipped mountaineers.

Thank you to the College of Agriculture for providing the venue.
