Today, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (BAELS) proudly joins in celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day—a day to honor the voices, traditions, resilience, and enduring heritage of our Indigenous Peoples.

As students of language and culture, we recognize the invaluable contributions of Indigenous communities in preserving the diverse languages, stories, and traditions that shape our nation’s identity. A single language may be spoken by many cultures, and a single culture may embrace multiple languages, yet together they preserve the stories, history, and heritage of every people.

May this celebration inspire us to continue learning, respecting, and protecting the rich cultural heritage that connects us all.

Today, July 21, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies community officially welcomed another academic year through our BAELS Online Orientation.

The orientation served as an opportunity for both our freshmen and returning students to get to know the BAELS program, explore the facilities available to them, and become familiar with the department's personnel along with the rules and regulations. More than an introduction, it was a chance to build connections, answer questions, and prepare everyone for the journey ahead.

To our freshmen, welcome to the BAELS family! To our seniors, welcome back! Thank you to everyone who joined and made today's orientation a meaningful start to another year of learning, growth, and excellence.

𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘪𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸. ✨

On June 1, 2026 the 𝘼𝙍𝘼𝙇 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 carried on with another productive and meaningful session at 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐫. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥. What began as a community extension initiative has gradually become a space where learners feel more confident to participate, ask questions, and share their ideas.

With only one day left before the program's culmination, Day 3 focused on reinforcing the knowledge and skills gained from the previous sessions. Learners actively participated in reading activities, group exercises, and guided discussions that encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and self-expression. The participation they displayed throughout the session reflected not only their academic progress but also their growing enthusiasm for learning.

As the ARAL Program nears its conclusion, the journey serves as a testament to the power of education and community engagement in creating opportunities for growth. Each lesson shared and every interaction made contributes to a lasting impact that extends far beyond the classroom.

Day 2 of the ARAL Program continued to be filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful interactions as the volunteers from the 𝗕𝗔 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 and 𝗕𝗦 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 spent another inspiring day with the learners of 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐫. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

With 17 participating students, the session became an opportunity to create a more engaging and interactive learning environment where every learner was encouraged to read, answer, collaborate, and express themselves confidently. Through various activities and guided discussions, the volunteers helped strengthen the students’ comprehension and communication skills while making the experience enjoyable and memorable.

Beyond academics, the activity also highlighted the value of patience, encouragement, and connection. Each interaction reflected the volunteers’ commitment to extending knowledge beyond the classroom and making learning accessible, meaningful, and uplifting for the community.

As the program moves forward, BAELS and BS Math continue to nurture young minds and inspire learners through service, dedication, and the shared passion for education.

Driven by a shared commitment to promote literacy and meaningful learning, the 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 and the 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 officially commenced their Community Extension Activity under the Department of Education’s 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 (𝘼𝙍𝘼𝙇) Program at 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐫. 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, Brgy. Olympog, General Santos City, on May 26, 2026.

The first day of the activity focused on creating an engaging and learner-centered environment where students were encouraged to read, participate actively, and express themselves with confidence. Through guided learning sessions and interactive activities, the volunteers assisted learners in strengthening their reading and comprehension skills while making the learning experience both enjoyable and meaningful.

More than an outreach initiative, the activity reflected the dedication of BAELS and BS Math in extending knowledge beyond the classroom and fostering stronger connections with the community through service, education, and collaboration.

Day 1 marks the beginning of more opportunities to inspire young minds, encourage continuous learning, and create a lasting positive impact—one learner at a time. 🌟
