OFFICIAL CAMPUS ADVISORY: Campus Safety Update and Class Resumption
To all Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff,

We are pleased to inform the Notre Dame of St. Therese of the Child Jesus (NDST) community that our campus has officially undergone a thorough safety assessment by the Office of the Building Official (OBO) of General Santos City.

Campus Safety Status: SAFE TO OCCUPY
Following the inspection, NDST has officially passed the assessment. The OBO has cleared our buildings and facilities, confirming that the campus is structurally sound, secure, and entirely safe for occupancy.

Resumption of Classes
While the campus is safe to enter, please be advised that we are still awaiting the official advisory from the Department of Education (DepEd) regarding the formal resumption of classes.

Important Note: Regular classes remain suspended until DepEd issues the official clearance. We will post another update immediately once we receive their directive.

Parents/Guardians: If you are claiming on behalf of your child, please bring a valid ID and know the student's full name and grade/section.

Please try to claim these items as soon as possible so we can clear the space.

Before leaving the guard house, please double-check the contents of the bag to ensure everything is accounted for.

Dear Theresean Families, Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Our hearts and prayers are with every one of you today as our community experienceing the aftermath of yesterday morning's powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake. We understand that this has been a deeply frightening experience for our children and families, and our primary concern right now is your safety, well-being, and peace of mind.

We thank the Almighty that our students and staff are safe. As we transition from the immediate shock of yesterday’s events into assessment and recovery, please take note of the following important updates regarding our school operations:

1. Suspension of Classes and Activities. To ensure everyone's safety and give families time to check on their homes and loved ones, all classes (both face-to-face and online) and school activities remain suspended until further notice. We will not rush a return to academic schedules until we are absolutely certain it is safe to do so.

2. Comprehensive Structural Assessment. Our administrative and engineering teams are currently conducting a thorough, room-by-room safety inspection of all campus buildings and facilities to check for any structural vulnerabilities caused by the tremors. We are strictly adhering to safety protocols, and no one will be permitted on campus grounds until local structural engineers give us an official clearance.

3. Reaching Out & Checking In. We want to ensure that every member of our Theresean family is accounted for and supported.

For Parents/Students: Please take a moment to message your respective Class Advisers or leave a comment below just to let us know how you are doing or if your family requires any immediate assistance.

For Faculty/Staff: Please coordinate directly with your department heads regarding your current status and safety.

Please remain vigilant, stay tuned to official government disaster channels (NDRRMC/PHIVOLCS) for updates on aftershocks, and keep close to your loved ones. We will release further announcements regarding the resumption of school work and classes on this official page as soon as local authorities provide clear guidance.
