𝙎𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙎 | 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀: 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

With discipline and determination propelled two Gensantos Foundation College (GFI) athletes to silver-medal finishes in the Kalivungan Festival Karate Competition, held on August 15-16 at the Provincial Covered Court in Amas, Kidapawan City, Cotabato Province.

Vannie Pearl Samano, a Grade 12 HUMSS student, claimed silver in the Kumite Cadet Female 48-kg category, displaying focus and composure throughout her bouts against tough opponents.

Meanwhile, Jay Divinagracia, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM) student, also secured silver in the Seniors Kata category with precise movements, balance, and controlled ex*****on.

Despite limited preparation time, coach Narvin Bucol continued to guide the athletes throughout the competition, helping them maximize their performance.

Bucol acknowledged areas that Samano and Divinagracia still need to improve, particularly in timing, distance, and decision-making during matches. He nevertheless expressed confidence in their potential to further develop their skills and perform better in future competitions.

“Your silver medal shows your hard work, courage, and determination. Keep training, stay humble, and never stop believing in yourselves. Silver today, stronger tomorrow. Keep fighting and aim higher!” Bucol said.

The two athletes’ silver-medal finishes added to GFI's achievements in the Kalivungan Festival, as Samano and Divinagracia continue to build their experience and sharpen their skills in karate.
