We are overjoyed to announce that Ms. Asnaira P. Sarip, MA, Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies and faculty member of the Institute of Islamic, Arabic, and International Studies (IIAIS), Mindanao State University โ General Santos, has been officially admitted to the PhD Program in Islamic Studies at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII). This opportunity is granted by virtue of Special Order No. 887-26C under the Academic Personnel Development Program (APDP).
Alongside her, two of our outstanding Islamic Studies studentsโMr. Muhammad Farhan Akil and Ms. Fauziyah Abdulgaporโhave likewise been admitted to pursue the Master in Economics, specializing in Halal Industry and Policy Economics at UIII.
This remarkable achievement is a milestone not only in their individual academic journeys but also in the collective pursuit of excellence within our institution. Ms. Saripโs unwavering dedication to scholarship, teaching, and service has long been evident, and we are confident that this new chapter will further enrich her contributions to both the academic and faith communities.
The PhD program will span four years beginning in September 2026, while the Masterโs program will run for two years. Both programs promise advanced training and global exposure that will strengthen their expertise, leadership, and impact in their respective fields.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Sarip, Mr. Akil, and Ms. Abdulgapor for this outstanding accomplishment. May this opportunity bring growth, wisdom, and inspiration, and may the Almighty continue to guide their steps as they embark on this new journey.

Dr. Huesca is a Professor IV and the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Production of Davao del Norte State College. He is a scholar in peace and security, development, and policy studies, and a proud alumnus of the History Department of Mindanao State UniversityโGeneral Santos.
A seasoned academic leader and researcher, he has led international research collaborations and conferences across Asia and has contributed to strengthening institutional research and development through various academic partnerships and initiatives.
Through his work in research, leadership, and public service, Dr. Huesca continues to advance academic excellence and meaningful development in higher education.

In view of the official post-earthquake assessment conducted following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake of June 8, 2026, the Institute of Islamic, Arabic and International Studies (IIAIS) premises, located within the COED Dormitory Building, are affected by the University's classification of the building as OFF-LIMITS due to significant structural risks identified during the initial evaluation.
Accordingly, entry into the building is strictly prohibited until further notice. All faculty members, staff, students, and stakeholders are strongly advised to comply with this directive and refrain from accessing the premises for their safety and welfare.
We respectfully urge everyone to remain vigilant, observe all University safety protocols, and await further instructions from the University Administration.
