| SHC First-Aid Training |
On September 5, 2024, the Siena Health Club launched its first activity, "First-Aid Training," focused on empowering our community with essential skills! This event featured the Emergency Medical Services and Responde Apopong, with Sir Adrian Varona as our guest speaker, helping members acquire important lifesaving techniques. This training plays a crucial role in our preparations for the upcoming intramurals and safety drills as we work together to foster a safer and healthier environment.
From learning CPR to managing injuries, we are preparing everyone to respond confidently in emergencies. We extend our gratitude to our Health Officers and ND - SCGSC Supreme Student Government for their dedication and to all participants for their involvement in this important initiative. Together, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Siena students during opening activities and emergencies.
The event was organized and supervised by the Siena Health Club Officers, SSG President, and Ma'am Nurse Syville R. Martinez.

๐ฌAn earthquake is a sudden shaking or trembling of the Earth's surface, typically caused by the movement of tectonic plates beneath the Earth's crust. When this movement occurs, it releases energy that travels in the form of seismic waves, resulting in an earthquake.
๐To stay safe during an earthquake, it is crucial to be prepared. Here are some of the safety guidelines to follow when an earthquake occurs:
1. ๐๐ผ๐ป'๐ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ! ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐บ! โ It is important not to panic when an earthquake occurs because panicking can lead to irrational behavior and increase the risk of injury or harm. When you remain calm, you can better assess the situation, evaluate potential dangers, and take appropriate actions to stay safe.
2. ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ! ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ! & ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ! โ It is important to follow this safety procedure during an earthquake because it can significantly increase your chances of staying safe and minimizing injury. During an earthquake, objects can fall from shelves, cabinets, or ceilings and cause injuries. By dropping to the ground, taking cover, and holding on a sturdy table, you can protect yourself from being struck by these objects.
Earthquakes can cause structural damage to buildings and infrastructure, increasing the risk of collapsing structures or falling objects. By locating the nearest exit, individuals can minimize the time they spend in potentially hazardous areas, reducing the likelihood of being injured by debris or trapped under collapsed structures.
If indoors, evacuate to an open area. If you are outside, move away from buildings, streetlights, and utility wires, and find an open area away from potential hazards. Avoid standing near trees, as they can be uprooted during an earthquake.
5. ๐๐ผ ๐๐ผ ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐น๐ ๐ฃ๐ผ๐ถ๐ป๐ โ Going to an assembly point allows emergency response teams, such as firefighters, paramedics, or search and rescue teams, to efficiently assess the situation and account for missing individuals. It also allows them to prioritize their resources and provide aid where it is most needed. Lastly it ensures that everyone is identified and that no one is left behind or overlooked in the aftermath of the earthquake.
๐๐ฅ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ, the key to earthquake safety is preparedness and awareness. Stay informed about earthquake risks in your region and take necessary precautions to minimize the potential impact on your safety.
โค๏ธโ๐ฉนIt's never too late to prepare. Take the necessary steps to safeguard yourself and your community from the unexpected. Together, let's fortify our resilience and knowledge towards earthquakes! Stay safe, stay informed!! โ๏ธโค๏ธ
