STOCKBRIDGE STUDENT SHINES AT WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP IN SEOUL

Grade 5 student Adelaide Louise of Stockbridge American International School achieved remarkable success at the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round held at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea, from July 23 to 30, 2026.

Competing in the Junior Division, Adelaide earned the 1st Place LPCA Scholar award alongside multiple gold medals across several key categories:

Gold Medal – Individual Debate
Gold Medal – Individual Writing
Gold Medal – Team Debate
Gold Medal – Scholars Bowl

Stockbridge GenSan Scholars Qualify for Yale Tournament of Champions After Historic Triumph at World Scholar’s Cup in Seoul

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — The Stockbridge American International School General Santos team delivered an outstanding performance at the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Global Round, held at Korea University from July 23 to 30, 2026. Securing an impressive 37th Overall Team Ranking (Silver) out of hundreds of elite international delegations, the team officially earned their spot at the prestigious Tournament of Champions (TOC) at Yale University.

The team composed of Sofia Isabel , Brayden, and Reianne Gayle brought home a collective haul of 6 Gold and 5 Silver medals across dynamic team events and rigorous individual subject challenges.

This historic triumph not only highlights the intellectual prowess, dedication, and collaborative spirit of these young scholars, but also reinforces Stockbridge GenSan’s commitment to academic excellence on the world stage. The entire Stockbridge community stands behind them, celebrating their remarkable achievements and cheering them on toward their next chapter of global success.

SEOUL, South Korea — Students from Stockbridge American International School, representing both the Davao and General Santos campuses, proudly waved the Philippine flag on the international stage after excelling at the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Global Rounds held last July 23 to 28.

Standing as the sole delegation representing the Philippines among participants from 24 countries, the Stockbridge scholars showcased exceptional academic strength, critical thinking, and teamwork across the competition’s four core events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Scholar’s Bowl. Beyond the intense academic challenges, the event served as a platform for building global connections and celebrating camaraderie with co-scholars from around the world.

Leading the school's achievements were senior participants Dannielle Zyd Colleen (Grade 10 - Resnick) and Hikari Ysha, who both secured multiple top honors and officially qualified for the prestigious Tournament of Champions (TOC) at Yale University.

Dannielle Zyd Colleen delivered a stellar performance, earning Gold medals in both Individual Debate and Team Debate, along with Silver medals in the Scholar’s Bowl and Overall Senior Division standings.

Equally outstanding, Hikari Ysha achieved a sweep of Gold medals across Individual Debate, Collaborative Writing, Team Debate, and Scholar’s Bowl, alongside a Silver medal in the Overall Senior Division standings.

The administration, faculty, and school community celebrate the remarkable dedication of these scholars, whose achievements bring pride not only to Stockbridge American International School but to the entire country.
