BCSI Sends Off Future Nurses with Faith, Hope, and Courage

At exactly 4 in the afternoon, the Chapel of Brokenshire College of SOCCSKARGEN Inc. (BCSI) became a place of prayer, reflection, and encouragement as fourth-year student nurses gathered for a send-off prayer in preparation for the late August 2026 Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination.

Together with their clinical instructors and several prominent figures of the institution, the student nurses were given a moment to pause from the pressure of board preparation and reflect on their journey at BCSI. The meditation encouraged them to look back on their years as student nurses, remembering the challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, the friendships they formed, and the experiences that helped shape them into the future nurses they are today.

The gathering also emphasized that preparation for the board examination goes beyond knowledge and confidence. While believing in one’s abilities is important, the students were reminded to never forget to pray and seek the guidance of the Lord God, especially as they face one of the most important milestones of their nursing journey.

Adding inspiration to the gathering was guest speaker Arnold T. Serna, RN, a board passer who shared his testimony and experiences. His message reminded the students that the road toward becoming a registered nurse is filled with challenges, but perseverance, faith, and determination can help them overcome them.

The send-off was anchored on the words of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The verse served as a reminder that the students do not have to face the board examination alone. Their knowledge and preparation, strengthened by faith, can give them the courage to face whatever challenges come their way.

As the late August board examination draws near, BCSI sends its future nurses forward with prayers, hope, and confidence. Every sleepless night, clinical duty, examination, and sacrifice has brought them closer to this moment.

To all BCSI board takers, believe in the work you have put in and trust the knowledge you have gained throughout your journey. Walk into the examination room with confidence, but keep your hearts humble in prayer. Do not let fear overshadow how far you have come. Give your very best, trust in God’s plan, and remember that an entire community is praying and cheering for you. May God guide your minds, calm your hearts, and bless the fruits of your hard work. The Philippine Nursing Student Association (PNSA) – BCSI Chapter officially opens the Filing of Candidacy for the PNSA Election 2027.

We invite dedicated, responsible, and passionate student nurses who are committed to serving the student body and advancing the mission of the organization to take part in this year's election. This is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills, represent your fellow nursing students, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that strengthen our nursing community.

The Araw ng Pagsaludo was no longer a mere celebration; it was an emotional gathering that acknowledged the commitment, sacrifices, and accomplishments of all students who constantly strive for excellence. With pride, thankfulness, and happiness surrounding the event, not only academic victories were celebrated, but also the qualities developed along the way.

As each recipient received the award and beamed with delight, the celebration reaffirmed the belief that all those late nights, hardships, and struggles were indeed worth it. More than accolades, the Araw ng Pagsaludo exemplified the solidarity within the academe in recognizing people who consistently serve as inspirations through their devotion and zeal.

It was a morning of clapping, reminiscence, and gratitude, a celebration of those who have proven that excellence does not lie solely in natural abilities, but rather in the strength of will and character.

PNSA Day 2026 was filled with celebration, culture, and meaningful voices as our newly crowned Mr. and Ms. PNSA represented the heart of the nursing profession through their remarkable answers during the pageant night.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗣𝗡𝗦𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮 𝗚. 𝗔𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮, shared:
“During the difficult times of our patients, nurses become their sign of hope — a hope that somehow, their pain and situation will be relieved.”
Her answer beautifully highlighted the compassion and empathy nurses give to patients during their most vulnerable moments.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗡𝗦𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗔. 𝗘𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗿, also left a strong message to everyone:
“Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. In nursing, this value should always be practiced, especially in the hospital setting.”
His words reminded everyone that honesty, responsibility, and accountability are essential in caring for human lives.
More than a celebration of crowns and titles, this year’s Barrio Fiesta became a celebration of values, purpose, and the voices of future nurses who lead with compassion and integrity.
