Good morning/afternoon, everyone,
Today, I want to talk about something we see every time we open our phones: school trends. We see people wearing our school uniform, dancing, or posing, with our school logo proudly on display. It seems harmless. It seems like fun. But behind the views and the likes lies a very real, very dangerous reality.
When we post our school logo online, we are giving away our location to the entire world.
We live in a time where we cannot take our safety for granted. There are people out there with bad intentions. By making our school logo a trend, we are making it incredibly easy for strangers, stalkers, or dangerous individuals to track exactly where we are. We are showing them where we gather, what time we are there, and how to find us. We are accidentally opening the door to terrifying possibilities—whether that is a school shooting, a stabbing, or targeted violence.
A trend lasts for a few days, but the consequences of a security breach can last a lifetime. Our school should be a safe zone, a place where we learn and grow without fear. But we compromise that safety the moment we prioritize social media trends over our own physical security.
I am calling on all of us today to be smart, digital citizens. Let’s protect ourselves, let’s protect our friends, and let’s protect our campus. Stop posting the logo. Stop joining the trend.
Let's keep our school safe. Thank you.
