📚 **BUAYAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES 2-DAY INSET 2026–2027**

Buayan National High School successfully concluded its School-Based In-Service Training for Teachers for School Year 2026–2027, held on September 10–11, 2026 at the Junior High ICT Laboratory of Buayan National High School.

Anchored on the theme “Aligning Instructional Materials with the Three-Term School Calendar,” the two-day professional development activity brought together the teaching personnel of the school for meaningful learning, collaboration, and professional growth in preparation for the implementation of the three-term school calendar.

The two-day INSET concluded with the awarding of Certificates of Participation to the participating teachers and Certificates of Appreciation to the resource speakers*, recognizing their active involvement, expertise, and valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the training.

🧠💙 BNHS STRENGTHENS MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT

Buayan National High School continues to strengthen its commitment to the mental health, emotional well-being, and overall welfare of its learners and personnel.

This morning, Buayan National High School welcomed the DepEd GenSan Mental Health Kalinga – Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Team for a meaningful session with our teachers and school personnel.

The activity provided our teachers with a safe and supportive space to process experiences, share reflections, and learn practical strategies for coping with stressful and challenging situations. It also emphasized the importance of creating a school environment where everyone feels heard, understood, respected, and supported.

The session further strengthened our teachers’ readiness to provide meaningful emotional and psychosocial support to learners. Through the guidance of the Mental Health Kalinga Team, teachers gained practical approaches in promoting positive mental well-being, engaging learners in supportive conversations, and helping them develop healthy ways of coping with difficult experiences.

The team also shared valuable guidance on recognizing when a learner may need additional assistance and knowing where appropriate support can be accessed. The Mental Health Kalinga Team reaffirmed its availability to extend guidance and assistance whenever the school community may need additional support.

As BNHS prepares for the opening of the Second Term, the school remains committed to strengthening programs that promote mental health awareness, resilience, positive relationships, and a caring school community.

Similar support activities will also be extended to our learners to help them better understand their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, communicate their concerns, and know that seeking help is a sign of strength.

We sincerely thank the DepEd GenSan Mental Health Kalinga Team for sharing their time, expertise, and compassion with the BNHS family. 💙

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Schools Division of General Santos City (SDO GenSan) expresses its deep concern over the stabbing incident that occurred at Buayan National High School today, September 7, 2026.

Our immediate priority is the welfare, safety, and recovery of the injured learner, who was promptly provided first aid and brought to a medical facility for appropriate medical attention. The learner’s parent/guardian was immediately informed of the incident.

The Division is also coordinating closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other concerned agencies as the investigation into the incident continues.

As the investigation proceeds, SDO GenSan will ensure that appropriate child protection measures, guidance interventions, and psychosocial support are provided to affected learners and personnel, while respecting due process and the confidentiality of all parties involved.

The Schools Division Office is closely monitoring the situation and is intensifying the implementation of school safety and child protection policies and strengthening coordination with parents, local government units, and law enforcement agencies.

SDO GenSan remains firmly committed to creating a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for all. The safety, security, and well-being of every learner remain our highest priority.

Back to Normal: Full Class Implementation at Buayan NHS

August 17, 2026 marked another meaningful milestone for Buayan National High School as the school officially implemented full face-to-face classes from Grade 7 to Senior High School.

The day began with a flag ceremony, bringing students and teachers together once again as the school embraced the feeling of returning to normal.

Excitement filled the campus as students formally returned to their classrooms, reunited with their classmates and teachers. The school once again came alive with the voices of students, while every classroom was filled with meaningful discussions, learning, and interaction.

It was truly a welcoming sight—a school community coming together and moving forward, back to learning, back to connection, and back to normal.
