To ensure community preparedness and emotional recovery after the recent earthquake, Jose C. Catolico Sr. Elementary School (JCCSES) conducted a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) session and orientation for parents, June 19.
This activity was led by School Head, Dr. Marivic S. Miranda and Assistant to the Principal, Mary Joyce Caรฑete, with master teachers Cecile Agnes Surmillon and Rowena S. Pombo.
It kicked off with a briefing on equipping parents with essential guidelines on how to respond to potential aftershocks. This was immediately followed by a Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) session facilitated by Mary Grace Lugo, School Guidance Designate.
Through these efforts, the school aims to strengthen the emotional and mental well-being of parents, who serve as the main anchors for their childrenโs safety and healing.
Alongside psychosocial support, the school also presented the School Learning Continuity Plan (SLCP) and oriented the participants on the implementation of three-term policy, as well as general school policies.
JCCSES expresses its heartfelt appreciation to all parents and guardians for their unwavering support, cooperation and active participation in all school activities.
School officials noted that the eventโs success highlights the important role of open communication and a strong rapport between the school and the community in achieving its goals.
