Islam strictly prohibits backbiting (Ghibah), defamation, public humiliation, and cyberbullying. Allah ﷻ reminds us in the Holy Qur'an:

"O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule another people; perhaps they may be better than them..." (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:11)

𝑨𝒍𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒉!

The Muslim Students’ Association (MUSA) successfully concluded its participation in Day 1 of the 3rd Student Leadership Summit held on September 18, 2026, at the AVR-Library, Mindanao State University–General Santos City.

The first day brought together student leaders in a meaningful avenue for learning, reflection, collaboration, and leadership development. Through the discussions and activities, participants were encouraged to look beyond familiar approaches and recognize the importance of growth and innovation in student leadership.

One of the notable reminders shared by Sir Norman Ralph Isla was:

“𝙄𝙛 𝙬𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚’𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚, 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚’𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣.”

The statement highlighted the importance of being open to change, challenging existing practices, and finding new ways to create meaningful impact within the university and the communities student leaders serve.

As Day 1 comes to a close, MUSA carries with it the lessons, insights, and connections gained from the summit. May these experiences continue to shape our officers into leaders who lead with purpose, serve with sincerity, and strive for meaningful change.

A meaningful academic partnership is taking shape as Mindanao State University – General Santos, the Muslim Students’ Association (MUSA), the Institute of Islamic, Arabic and International Studies (IIAIS), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta come together for “The Formation of Islamic Law: History, Theory, and Application,” a Hybrid Forum on October 7, 2026.

Stay tuned as we bridge institutions, perspectives, and communities in a shared pursuit of knowledge and deeper understanding of Islamic law.

The Muslim Students’ Association (MUSA) is currently holding its First General Assembly at the Office of Student Development and Services (OSDS), Mindanao State University–General Santos, bringing together Muslim students from different colleges across the university. The assembly serves as a venue for students to convene, exchange ideas, and strengthen coordination as the organization begins its activities for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The gathering focuses on discussing the organization’s plans, programs, and activities for the first semester, as well as important updates concerning its members and initiatives. Through this assembly, MUSA seeks to foster unity, active participation, and meaningful engagement among Muslim students while laying the groundwork for a productive and purposeful semester.

𝗔𝗟𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗛, 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗙 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗞𝗘-𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗜

Food relief packages were distributed to flood and earthquake-affected families in 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲, on August 23, 2026, bringing the humanitarian initiative to its final phase.

The distribution was carried out by the 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀‘ 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗔) 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, in collaboration with 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗲𝗻 and 𝗟𝗮𝘇𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮‘𝘄𝗮𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, following the procurement and preparation of the relief supplies in General Santos City.

The assistance provided essential food provisions to families affected by the disaster and served as an expression of solidarity from the participating organizations and their supporters.

The Qur’an reminds us:
“And cooperate in righteousness and piety.”
- Qur’an 5:2

What began as an effort to gather resources in General Santos City ultimately reached communities in Sarangani, demonstrating how collective action can bring timely assistance to people facing difficult circumstances.

At 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻, 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, volunteers gathered on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 22, 2026, to prepare food packages for families affected by the flood and earthquake in 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲.

The packing operation was organized by the 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀‘ 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗔) 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, in collaboration with 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗲𝗻 and 𝗟𝗮𝘇𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮‘𝘄𝗮𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮. Procured food supplies were sorted, arranged, and packed in preparation for their delivery to the affected communities.

More than a logistical step in the relief effort, the activity brought together individuals and organizations whose contributions helped turn donated resources into assistance that could directly reach families in need.

The completed packages were subsequently transported for distribution, carrying with them not only essential provisions but also the collective support of those who took part in the initiative.

A humanitarian relief effort for flood and earthquake-affected communities in Sarangani began with the procurement of essential food supplies on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 21, 2026, 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗖𝗖 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆.

The 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀‘ 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗔) 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, in collaboration with 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗲𝗻 and 𝗟𝗮𝘇𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮‘𝘄𝗮𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, secured food items that were later prepared as relief packages for affected families in 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲.

The procurement was carried out as part of a joint initiative aimed at responding to the immediate needs of communities affected by the earthquake. It also reflected the organizations’ collective efforts to translate solidarity into concrete humanitarian assistance.

From the first item purchased to the final package delivered, the relief initiative was built on a shared commitment to serve communities in need.
