CULMINATING SUCCESS: Strengthening Responsible AI Use in Basic Education! 🤖📚

A 3-day Capacity-Building Workshop for Educators has successfully concluded!

This culminating activity, “Strengthening Responsible AI Use in Basic Education: A Capacity-Building Workshop for Educators,” was made possible through the expertise of our facilitators from Mindanao State University – General Santos City (MSU-GSC).

We were honored to be joined by dedicated teachers and PSDS (Public Schools District Supervisors) from 10 districts within General Santos City who actively engaged, learned, and collaborated toward future-ready education.

From ethical AI use, to practical classroom integration, to protecting our learners in the digital age — this workshop truly empowered our educators to embrace AI responsibly and meaningfully.

Our sincerest gratitude to Doc Edilbert Reyes for initiating this transformative endeavor, to our facilitators from MSU-GSC, to our PSDSs, and to all teacher-participants for your dedication to future-ready, responsible education.

Strengthening Responsible AI Use in Basic Education 🤖📚

The Schools Division of General Santos City, under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Isagani S. Dela Cruz, CESO V, once again forged a meaningful collaboration with Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MBM, LLM. of Mindanao State University (MSU).

This time, our partnership focuses on Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning through the three-day training, “Strengthening Responsible AI Use in Basic Education: A Capacity-Building Workshop for Educators,” held on September 9–11, 2026, at East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City.

This training is not simply about learning how to use AI tools. More importantly, it is about understanding how AI can be used responsibly, ethically, and purposefully to enhance teaching and learning.

We are especially grateful to the expert professors from Mindanao State University, who serve as our resource speakers for this three-day capacity-building program. Their expertise and insights will help our educators navigate the opportunities and challenges of AI in education.

As educators, we have a vital role in ensuring that technology serves education, not the other way around. AI may provide powerful tools, but it is our professional judgment, values, creativity, and commitment to our learners that will determine how meaningful and responsible its use will be.

Our very own Eureka Heragrace Tuya of DepEd RXII SDO General Santos City is now part of the Philippine Team preparing for the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2026 to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA from May 9–15, 2026.

This remarkable achievement reflects the commitment of our learners, mentors, and partners in advancing excellence in scientific research. As Eureka steps onto the international stage, she carries not only her research but also the pride, resilience, and brilliance of every young Filipino scientist.
