Ka-DepEd, sa panahon ng pagsubok, piliin natin ang malasakit at paggalang.

Nananawagan ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa media, vloggers, content creators, at sa publiko na iwasang mag-post, magbahagi, o magpalaganap ng mga video, larawan, at iba pang sensitibong materyal kaugnay ng naganap na pamamaril sa isang pribadong paaralan sa Zamboanga City.

𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Sharing graphic images or videos inflicts secondary trauma, violates privacy, and exploits tragedy.

We strongly urge the public to:

⚫ Not share graphic footage. Refrain from forwarding or posting videos and explicit images. Delete and report them immediately.

⚫ Stop the spread of rumors: Avoid posting unverified information that worsens panic and fear.

⚫ Protect victim dignity: Respect the privacy of students, teachers, and families.

Let us honor the victims by cultivating empathy, safeguarding our digital spaces, and protecting our learning communities.

The Department of Education (DepEd) appeals to members of the media, vloggers, content creators, and the public to refrain from posting, sharing, or amplifying videos, photographs, or other sensitive material showing the incident or its aftermath.

At this difficult time, we ask everyone to respect the privacy and dignity of the affected families, learners, school personnel, and the entire Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) community. The circulation of such material may further compound the trauma of those directly affected and cause additional distress to their loved ones.

We also urge everyone to allow law enforcement authorities to conduct their investigation without interference and to rely only on verified information from official sources.

Let us choose compassion over clicks. Our priority must be the safety, dignity, and healing of the affected school community.
