The Society of Electrical Engineering Students (SELENS) is pleased to announce the opening of the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 for Academic Year 2026–2027.

We are calling on creative and skilled SELENS members to craft a design that embodies the identity, unity, and spirit of our organization. The competition is open exclusively to bonafide SELENS members, and the winning designs will be produced as the official SELENS shirt and hoodie for the academic year.

𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐒 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — Mindanao State University-GSC welcomes Dr. Laurence L. Delina, as the guest speaker for its 47th Commencement Exercises today, July 08, 2026.

The graduation ceremony commenced at the University Quadrangle at 3:00 PM, gathering university officials, faculty, parents, and the graduates as they officially step to the next chapter of their careers and honoring the hard work and achievements of the graduating class, Batch Magdarani.

Dr. Delina serves as an Associate Professor in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research covers climate vulnerabilities and internationally recognized as expert in climate change mitigation, sustainable development, and global development.

As a proud graduate who once walked the same Pamantasang Mindanao as a Civil Engineering student, Dr. Delina deliver his speech. He addresses the university mantra “𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞” mapping it out as a blueprint of life after college. He reminded Batch Magdarani that graduation itself is a story of 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚.

From his speech, “𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚,” drawing from his own journey from being an engineering student to someone whose work made significant contributions to climate that shows excellence requires resilience. He further emphasized that 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, urging the graduates to look beyond and reminds each one that 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚.

Also, leading the graduating batch this year are two outstanding students from the Institute of Islamic, Arabic, and International Studies and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities: Raiza M. Maulana, who serves as the batch valedictorian and graduated magna cm laude with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies with a major in Shari’ah, and Ramzel Ivan Delloro, the University Student Leadership Awardee who graduated cm laude with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
