June 12 marks a monumental day in our history—the 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 1898, when Filipino revolutionaries stood united in Kawit, Cavite to proclaim our freedom from over 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞. But freedom did not come easy. It was paid for with the blood, courage, and resilience of our ancestors who fought for a nation where Filipinos could live with dignity and self-determination.

𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻—𝗶𝘁𝗼’𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻.
�Even in the present, true independence means continuing the fight—against poverty, misinformation, corruption, and inequality. It is a call for unity, active citizenship, and love for our fellow Filipinos, regardless of faith, gender, or region.

Every time we embrace the true spirit of equality, we learn to love and respect each individual regardless of their gender, background, or beliefs. However, even today, many still feel unable to fully express their true selves due to misconceptions and discrimination rooted in gender biases. Showing 𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀; 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝑲𝒂𝒎𝒊 𝒂𝒚 𝒑𝒂𝒈-𝒂𝒔𝒂 𝒓𝒊𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏. We are not just part of society; we possess talents, dreams, and aspirations just like everyone else. By openly expressing our gender, we demonstrate that love knows no boundaries.

𝑲𝒂𝒎𝒊 𝒂𝒚 𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏, 𝒂𝒕 𝒌𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕-𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕 𝒏𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒉𝒊𝒏, 𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒈𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒏, 𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏. We are individuals seeking equality and dignity, and it is our right to be recognized and valued for who we truly are.

𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙖 𝙢𝙤 𝙣𝙖 𝙗𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙊𝙂𝙄𝙀? 🧐 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙢 𝙢𝙤 𝙗𝙖 𝙠𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚 𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙙𝙗𝙤𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙮𝙖 𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝? 🌈

The SOGIE Bill (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression Bill) is one such law that aims to 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆. This bill is a vital step toward creating a fairer and more inclusive society, where everyone has equal opportunities regardless of their gender expression. The passage of the SOGIE Bill sends a clear message: the Philippines stands for human rights, dignity, and respect for all its citizens. 𝙆𝘼𝙔𝘼’𝙏 𝙎𝘼𝙉𝘼’𝙔 𝙈𝘼𝙄𝙋𝘼𝙎𝘼 𝙉𝘼!

Just like how 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗺 (ʿ𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗵𝗶 𝗮𝘀-𝘀𝗮𝗹ā𝗺) was tested with one of the greatest trials of all time—the command to sacrifice his beloved son, 𝗜𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 (ʿ𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗵𝗶 𝗮𝘀-𝘀𝗮𝗹ā𝗺)—we, too, face our own sacrifices. He didn’t hesitate because his faith in Allah was greater than his fear or pain. His unwavering obedience reminds us that real strength lies in trust and surrender, even when the path is unclear.

As 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, we endure long nights, difficult equations, mental exhaustion, and moments of doubt. We fall behind, we make mistakes, we question ourselves—but like Ibrahim’s test, our struggles shape our purpose. Every unfinished plate, every red mark, every retry—it’s all part of a greater sacrifice in pursuit of a future built on dedication and resilience.

To our fellow 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, as we celebrate the Feast of Sacrifice, may our hearts be filled with faith, our homes with peace, and our lives with countless blessings.🌙

RMMC BSCE Students participates the annual MIDAS Academic Festival held at Century Hotel, Manila with a theme Engineering Extravaganza of Rising Structural Innovators October 28, 2024.

Despite the agony brought by storm Kristine which prompt the rescheduling of the event which is supposed to be held last October 25, 2024 in the same venue, the RMMC is very enthusiastic and greatful to experience this Academic Festival. MIDAS handling the situation is indeed commendable and made sure the participants and coach are safe and thus, at their comfortable places.
