We all know that the impact of climate change are wreaking havocs around the world and in our beloved country. Obviously, this will continue to happen unless there's going to be a drastic measure for us to do.

In a world full of constant change and streaming technology, we will always find comfort in our beloved nature. Nature is always ready to evolve and we all know that it doesn't need the people, the people need the nature. Our actions will determine our faith, our FUTURE. We are the ones causing the problem but we can also be the solution to everything that is happening in this tragically beautiful world.

The CITY ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES OFFICE (CITY ENRO) conducted a Youth Climate Change Action Planning Workshop last January 13, 2022 at MSU Graduate School AVR. The participants of this activity are mostly Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons or its Kagawad Chair on Environment, and Civic Youth Organizations Representatives including the SSG Federation of General Santos City.

We would like to thank Hon. John Salvador Demdam of SK Federation, City Director Rilimin Sandoval of DILG, and Mr. Allan Marcilla of City ENRO for giving us the opportunity to join in this marvelous workshop.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 ‘𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬’ 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰?

As seen on the photos below, super typhoon “Odette” left a devastating damage to the ‘𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬’ 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨.

In a Facebook post of a former student of Dadiangas North High School, they celebrated Christmas and New Year with no electricity. They celebrated Christmas and New Year with the relief goods that was given to them. According to him, super typhoon “Odette” raged for five (5) hours, which left damages to their homes.

The houses and livelihood in their area was in chaos. The super typhoon “Odette” left them nothing but a fear and burden. They badly need our help, so we must lend a hand by donating some foods and other supplies that could help them survive in a day.

Magandang Gensan! Greeting of peace. The Supreme Student Government Organization of Dadiangas North High School, is planning to lend a hand for the affected victims of super typhoon Odette at the City of Island Adventures, Surigao.

In order to make this plan to be successful, we would like to seek your support (monetary and/or in kind) to be able to sustain such event.

Magandang Gensan, Home Of The Champions!

Talikala, Inc. together with Project GenZine, Save the Children Philippines, and the Local Council for the Protection of Children of General Santos City invited the Supreme Student Government Federation of General Santos City on the newly-concluded Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) Forum last January 07, 2022 at Venue 88 Hotel and Events Place, General Santos City.

As of the discussion, it is important for us toremember the 4 Basic Rights of a Child; the right to survival, protection, development, and participation. These rights are based on the non-discrimination principle and all movements must be in line with the best attention of children. The government needs to safeguard these rights and provide basic services for children to survive and thrive.

The purpose of the forum is to educate children about OSAEC, and for them to better understand and deepen their knowledge about its concepts.

This event is also a call to encourage children to actively participate in resolving the issues on their community.
