𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞|| 𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗦 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀' 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿

The first year students of the CFCI Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) program successfully conducted an educational library tour at the City Public Library and the General Santos Doctors' Medical School's Special Library. The activity aimed to provide students with practical exposure to real-world library operations, services, and management systems. During the visit, students explored various sections, including circulation, reference, and technical services, gaining insights into cataloging, classification, and user-centered services in both public and special library settings.

The tour also allowed students to observe how libraries adapt to the evolving information landscape through the integration of technology and specialized resources. The experience strengthened their foundational knowledge and inspired them to uphold professionalism and innovation as future librarians and information specialists.

𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩: 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 2026

The CFC-Learning Resource Center successfully conducted its first-ever Library Instruction and Orientation for the Tourism students, as they are part of the newly offered program of the school.
The library instruction and orientation served as a guide to help students understand the library’s functions and learn how to navigate the library effectively and confidently.

The event was spearheaded by Ms. Jasmine G. Titong (Circulation Librarian) on behalf of the Head Librarian, Dr. Nenita P. Non, RL, and was assisted by the library apprentices: Mr. Lawrence James P. Delos Santos (Technical Library Apprentice), Mr. Justin L. Matos (Periodical Library Apprentice), and Mr. Jeremie Rivera (Reference Library Apprentice).

The activity concluded successfully with meaningful interaction between the students and the librarians. Thank you so much, Tourism students! We hope to see you more often in the library.

The Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) third year students formally commenced their practicum journey through the Seminar-Orientation for Library Practice 01 (OJT1), held on January 30, 2026 at the CFC College Library. The activity provided students with a comprehensive overview of the in-campus practicum’s purpose, scope, and expectations.

Key discussions focused on workplace ethics, roles and responsibilities, required documentation, and standards of professional conduct. The seminar emphasized the importance of applying theoretical knowledge to actual library operations, allowing students to develop essential skills in information services, organization, and management.

The orientation marked a significant milestone for BLIS students as they transition from classroom learning to hands-on professional experience.

The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. Region XII successfully conducted Seminar-Workshop, General Assembly, Book Fair, and JLOS Summit 2025, together with the theme “Innovation, Sustainability, and Community Engagement: Building a Future-Ready Library,” the three-day event gathered librarians, educators, and library science students across the SOCCSKSARGEN Region on September 24-26, 2025, at Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) – ACCESS Campus, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat Province.

Moreover, the Bachelor of Library and Information Science of Cronasia Foundation College actively participated and engaged in discussions and competitions, including, Mr. and Ms. JLOS 2025, Singing Duo, Extemporaneous Speaking, on-the-spot Poster making, Storytelling, Spoken Poetry, lastly the Individual and Team Quiz bowl, alongside fellow LIS students from different institutions across SOCCSKSARGEN Region.

With their active involvement, each contest and session became an opportunity for the LIS students to grow not only as learners but also as future-ready professionals in the field of librarianship.
