Two graduates of STI College General Santos have successfully passed the October 2025 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), on November 3.

The new Certified Public Accountants are Kristine G. Perez, CTT, CPA, and Rhaffe R. Dayday, CPA. Their success adds to the growing list of STI GenSan alumni who have made their mark in the accounting profession.

The CPA board exam, known for its rigorous standards, is one of the most challenging professional licensure examinations in the Philippines. Passing it is regarded as a significant milestone for aspiring accountants.

To all 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐏𝐀𝐬 out there, this is your moment! You’ve worked hard and prepared well, so keep calm and trust your skills.

The STI General Santos - Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) proudly congratulates Ivy D. Camara for successfully passing the Civil Service Examination (Professional Level) held last August 2025.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to her perseverance, discipline, and commitment to academic and personal excellence. Balancing the rigorous demands of accountancy studies with preparation for the CSE is no easy feat, yet Camara proved that determination and hard work truly pay off.

‎STI JPIA members took part in the event organized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) General Santos City Chapter on October 9, 2025, at SM City General Santos. The gathering brought together Accountancy students and professionals from various schools to discuss important updates in the accounting field.

‎During the session, Hon. Noe G. Quiñanola, Chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy, talked about recent amendments, the new Accountancy curriculum, and trends in board exam performance and passing rates. He also addressed questions from students during the open forum, where participants actively shared their thoughts and concerns about the profession’s direction.

‎After the discussion and closing remarks, participants had the chance to take photos with Chairman Quiñanola. The event was both informative and inspiring, giving STI JPIA members valuable insights as they prepare for their journey toward becoming licensed CPAs.

Excellence in accounting was on full display as STI College General Santos – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) proudly clinched 8th place in the PICPA Inter-School Accounting Quiz Bowl, held last September 26 at Robinsons Mall General Santos.

Competing against 18 participating teams from various institutions, two STI JPIA teams impressively tied in the 8th spot, showcasing the depth of talent and teamwork within the organization. The event was masterfully facilitated by Dr. Florenz C. Tugas, CPA, CISA, whose expertise made the competition both challenging and enriching.

This achievement reflects STI JPIA’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and continuous learning, proving once again that STIans are built for success—both inside and beyond the classroom.

Last Saturday, September 27, the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) of STI College General Santos hosted an insightful Tax Filing Workshop at Computer Laboratory 5, equipping future accountants with the skills and confidence to handle real-world tax responsibilities.

Led by the knowledgeable Ma’am Razille Fernandez, the session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of tax obligations and ensure they are up to date with the latest tax regulations. Students gained hands-on experience in preparing and filing Withholding Tax, Value-Added Tax (VAT), and Income Tax Returns, applying what they learned through practical exercises and guided instruction.

Through this engaging workshop, STI JPIA continues to uphold its commitment to bridging academic knowledge with professional application, preparing its members to become competent and compliant practitioners in the field of accountancy.
